which in my humble opinion is a program that is a gameday coach away from being the most dominant program is college football..

see how LSU struggled with Auburn and Towson...teams of LSU talent crush these teams and get the 3rd teamers time in the 4th quarter...

that is the level you are speaking of...

Les is a great coach. Coaching is more than just being a "gameday coach." If all these guys are so great, then let's see them sustain success the way Miles has while in the toughest division of the toughest conference. You guys have forgotten 2011 because of the loss to Bama in the BCS. LSU stomped Oregon, West Virginia, Tennessee, Auburn, UF, Arkansas, UGA in the SECCG, and beat the Bama in BDS. If last year's regular season wasn't the greatest regular season in LSU history, I could see you having a point, but to say Miles isn't a good enough coach for LSU is DUMB.

all these guys would be geniuses who go 9-4 every year. every announcer cant wait to talk about what a smart football guy they are, and they'd never match miles' record. heres the question: you want to go 11-2 every year and win ugly, or have a brilliant coach who goes 9-4?

i think chris petersen is someone who could elevate LSU to even further heights, but i think its a pretty unrealistic option as bad as i'd want him to come to BR

Lol.

Shaw could win more with LSU's 3rd team squad then Les could with its starters.

i don't see why people aren't understanding this.

an in conference rival is supposedly offering our HC $27.5 million, if this is a legit contract offer, He's not as bad of a HC as you think he is. Arkansas' AD didn't just wake up and decide to throw alot of money at anyone to see what could happen, and they're not gonna offer that number to everybody. They've been targeting him and came up with a number that would work well for both of them. More money than Alabama is paying Saban..........

geezum, no one of those guys has accomplished 1/3 of what miles has. no one has played in a n.c. game, much less twice, none has won one and none have beat an s.e.c. team with a winning record.

Your right, because any of those guys would be better than 35 - 5 over the last 3 years including 20 - 4 in SEC play. Both of those records are the best records for any coach in the SEC over that span. The morons are out in full force....it is a moron takeover.

Yeah, some of you LSU fans let Saban's success at Bama blind you to the heights Les is running your own program. And we're called obsessed with UAt.

Petersen, Patterson, and Shaw have better winning % as HC than Les. And they've done it with less talent and facilities. I think what they've done is more impressive IMO. I'd say that's at least 1/3 of what miles has done.

Chris Petersen says, "hello UGA 2011" who by the way beat the shite out of everyone in the SEC except for USCe and LSU last year. UGA would've beaten LSU had it not been for Tyrann last year. They were skullfricking us in the first half. We got lucky that Malcolm Mitchell can't catch or it would've gotten ugly.

That's definitely part of it, but I think Les' demeanor and quirkiness are the biggest part of it. He doesn't fit the mold of a big-time college coach. No matter how successful he is, the perception will be otherwise.

With less competition.

ETA: Shaw? David Shaw? Of course he has a better winning %. He's only coached 25 games and he had Andrew Luck for 13 of those. You can't be this ignorant.

THIS is false.

I'm not saying Les isn't a great coach and I hope he stays because I don't like the risk/reward aspect of finding a new coach. HOWEVER, if you look at Les' record a lot more closely, you'll realize how fricking lucky he's been.

'10----UT game, UF game both should've been losses. If dooley can count and if the refs would've called that lateral a forward pass against UF, we're looking at a 4 loss season.

'11----The year of LSU facing back up QBs. Auburn, Tenn, UF, and UK all hit us with their backup QBs. not the reason we won obviously, just something worth noting. This was the only year in Les' tenure I thought we played up to our potential---until he fricked with the team chemistry adn went full retard on offense with jefferson after the first bama game.

With less facilities, talent, and $.

besides, I think Petersen has proven himself over and over.

Patterson definitely did a great job this year considering the shite at the QB position.

LSU played these same teams, sans Vandy. Only difference is we played Bama too.

Don't act like it is some murderer's row and has anything to do with Boise. It doesn't.

Miles is in the SEC, there are a few good teams here. Are you gonna compare strength of schedules in this brilliant analysis?

I agree with many on here that it can be aggravating to play down to your competition and look slow on offense. HOWEVER, we are winning those games. Most people on here want style points as well and it just isn't going to happen.

Worst. Argument. Ever.

Why don't the coaches you named RECRUIT the talent LSU has? Give them the talent...ridiculous.
