Said to keep an eye on Neal Brown and West Virginia. Rumors are he’s next to go and lost by 40 to OU last night.

One of the hosts knows Jimbo pretty well and said Jimbo isn’t the type to sit home and doesn’t want to be a coordinator again.

He’s from West Virginia, his mom still lives there and he owns a farm/ranch there. I actually think that would be a good under the radar job that could be decent in the new B12.

Yeah he'll land on his feet and WVU would be a great fit for him

Would be a good job for him. If he stays above .500 he could retire there, and the Big XII is barely a power conference anymore.

Jimbo is a good man and a smart coach.

I expect him to have plenty of success now that he’s escaped from college station

If Neal Brown loses one of the last two games, I think this could maybe heat up. If he finishes 8-4, I'm not sure he's fired. There are definitely some WVU donors who would like to see Jimbo "come home" though, so who knows.

Jimbo will do one of two things:

1. Hang out with Coach O on the beach and pass the days figuring out how to spend all the millions.

2. Become an auctioneer.

I bet 70 million goes a long way in West Virginia.

The last two games are Cincy and Baylor, too. WVU should win both, which would also result in Brown's best season in Morgantown.

It'd be tough to fire him then just to replace him with a guy who has $76 million reasons to not give a shite anymore.

What kind of masochist would hire him as a coordinator?!

There is no such thing as retiring when you’ve got 77mm in the pocket.

He’s retired right now and I would not trust him as my coach with that much money.

Alarm goes off at 4:30 to take a flight to Florida for recruiting ?????…….hit snooze.

I like Jimbo. I hope he finds a good landing spot where he can continue to do what he loves at a program that isn’t snake-bit.

Would this be a relatively “cheap” move for West Virginia? Granted they would have to pay Neal Brown’s buyout, but if Jimbo’s buyout essentially paying him a good chunk of change for the next 7 years, could that allow WVU to not have to allocate as much for their coach with A&M essentially paying a good salary to Jimbo to not coach?

Getting a new job wouldn’t cancel the buyout? I swear that has been a thing before

It would depend entirely on how his A&M contract, buyout are structured I would think.

Certainly there is a provision that any new salary will count against his A&M buyout; but also, it would be the most aggy thing ever if they didn’t put that in there and they still have to pay him.

Compared to the SEC and B1G

It’s the best of the rest

His contract is written such that he can get a job elsewhere if terminated and still get his buyout.

NB has been coaching for his job all year

It’s why he took over calling plays

I think he needs 8 wins and then a bowl win getting us to 9 to keep his job

He’s not a big game coach and Saturday night just amplified that. Biggest game for him during his tenure at WVU. Prime time national tv and get blown out by 40. Team looked completely unprepared.

Would make that 2026 Bama WVU game more interesting ( if it doesn't get cancelled)

Don’t think it works that way… if the fire and love is still there, the money doesn’t matter. Only Jimbo knows what’s in his heart.
