I don’t necessarily think the “insiders” were wrong in that Riley had agreed to become LSU’s next head coach. Obviously the ink wasn’t dry like some claimed but I think Riley told Woodward he was coming. They were telling recruits, former/current players, boosters it was going to be Riley. He changed his mind last minute and now we’re scrambling. Now I’m just hoping it’s not to late to get Aranda

Get ready for everyone to tell you that you got played by the board.

Simple truth. Anyone with a shred of credibility told you it wasn’t going to happen and you ignored them.

Woodward wasn’t telling any players, recruits, or coaches. He just doesn’t operate like that.

Maybe he did and maybe he didn't. We'll never know for sure. The only way we would know is if there is some definitive proof that he had whoever else it might be locked up weeks ago and the Riley rumors were actually just rumors that were behind the actual events. It's possible that he offered Riley and the time to respond expired and he went with option 2, but like I say, we'll probably never know that for sure.

How do you guys still not get this. No one “in the know” is going around telling all sorts of people who the coach is until the contract is signed. What clearly happened is that people who wanted to appear “in the know” betted on the frenzy of message board speculation being right.

No he didn’t if he “burned” Woodward, it was premeditated to get what he wants at OU.

Scott just couldn’t see it.

This is the most obvious explanation and the one that is most consistent with the evidence and human experience.

But prepare yourself for the deluge of posters arguing that thousands of people in multiple states, including recruits, OU board admins, and legitimate journalists like Dellinger were all in the grip of simultaneous mass delusion or some grand counterintelligence scheme concocted by Woodward.

Simple truth...you nor anyone else on the boards or in the media knew or knows the truth, they are all guessing hoping they are right...very few people know exactly what is happening behind the scenes...
