Just rumors but heard the following:

Luke out as HC; Rich Rod in.
Bianco to AD
Targeting the Louisville baseball coach to replace Bianco.

Any OM insiders know how much substance there is to this?

Matt Luke is a treasure.

I don’t know why Ole Miss would want to get rid of him. He loves the place, took over a bad job in a bad situation and led them admirably with some success. He is having a decent year while playing freshmen 86% of the time. He hired good assistants. He is recruiting well, especially given the situation. They are a fun team to watch. Ole Miss could not make a great hire anyway given their situation and the current crop of coaches available that would take the job.

He deserves another two years. Then you will know and can cast sound judgment upon his record. All these freshmen will be experienced juniors then. If he falls short, fire him. I wouldn’t be surprised if they turn into West Virginia back when they had Pat White and Steve Slaton.

Give Matt Luke a chance.

Here are the first 7 games for Ole Miss in 2020:

Baylor (Neutral Site)
Southeast Missouri (Home)
Auburn (Home)
LSU (Away)
Alabama (Home)
Vanderbilt (Away)
Florida (Home)

They are potentially looking at 2-5 to start the season, it doesn't make sense to fire Luke and bring in a new coach with that schedule.

That all makes sense to me.

If I was an Ole Miss fan I think I’d be excited about all that

I’d be ok with that but would rather have Macintyre than Rich Rod, especially since Vandy is for whatever reason keeping Mason.

I'm 48 years old. The only time I can remember when Ole Miss was worth a shite was when they had Eli Manning and when Freeze was cheating like a motherfricker to get kids to go to school there. They need to hold on to Matt Luke for dear life. The 4 and 5 stars from Mississippi are gonna get offers from LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia, etc. And they gotta fight State and Southern Miss for the locals that want to stay in Mississippi.

Exactly. They will fire Luke, promote RR to interim, but it wont happen until midseason next year. RR will have a half season audition before being named permanent HC. We've seen this play out at LSU with a much less obvious candidate in Orgeron.

I think Matt Luke has earned another year. How many freshmen does that team have playing significant minutes? It's crazy.

He's made good assistant hires and recruited fairly well.

You hire guys like this for a reason. It's to get you through the bad times. Not lead you out of them.

Not bowl eligible.

Who was the head coach of those WVU teams?

I don't see why he would leave Louisville for Ole Miss.

Damn when’s the last time LSU and OM have played that early in the season?

This would be so dumb. What exactly does Rich Rod bring as a Head Coach that he couldn't bring to the table as an OC?

If anyone should be promoted it should be MM. The defense is otherworldly compared to where they were last year. Hell, the offense is the reason they lost to Auburn, TAMU, and Memphis.

Not to mention he looks exactly how you'd expect a male Ole Miss student to look. It's uncanny.

Fan support for one. Ole Miss baseball is a huge deal to that school. Louisville doesn't give AF.

I'm sure Louisville's facilities are solid, but Ole Miss are top notch as well.

I would think that the Black Bears need to hire their A.D. first. If he's not involved in the hiring of the H.C. then that H.C. is considered "not his" and all A.D.s want their own choice. Otherwise, they have their Board make all these decisions & like all board members, they are political appointees. Who owe some one for their place on the board.

Is that supposed to be something an SEC program won't match?

Bianco makes $1.2 before incentives.

He's got good facilities and support. I don't know why he'd wanna leave a program he built. L'ville is a better program now than Ole Miss

So basically the LSU circa 2005 philosophy, except with poor man’s versions of Les Miles, Skip Bertman, and Paul Mainieri
