Regardless who the hire is, Frank Wilson will 100% be the head coach the rest of the 2025 season.

There is no benefit to a new permanent head coach immediately taking over on the field during the season. Which is why it never happens.

But you could absolutely have an announcement of the next head coach before the end of the season if said head coach isn’t currently coaching another team.

Thank you. This is why I don't opine much here.

But seriously this board is awesome and these are exciting times

So there's no rule against it?

I find that hard to believe but I can tell you this. He stated on his show a few days before the A&M game that he was told Kelly would be fired if the Aggies won.

Saban isn’t Kelly and already has generational wealth, I don’t worry about that dude coasting, if he takes the job he’s all in.

Kirby is the highest paid HC at 13.2 mil. Knowles at Penn St is the highest coordinator at 3.1 m.

For 25 mil a year you could hire the top HC and top OC and DC in CFB and have money left over.

Saban makes sense. Why would he want to follow the coach that built the greatest team in College Football history.
Much easier to follow Brian Kelly.

I just hope he doesn’t feel the pressure of Orgeron looming over him once he takes the job.

Saban doesn’t strike me as someone that likes to sit around the house or on the beach twiddling his thumbs and napping and watching Netflix.

He owns a ton of businesses and has a tv gig. And he has frick you money already. Saban also loves his lake house and being with his grandkids.

He’s not coaching again.

Most human beings start losing a lot mentally and physically when they get into their mid 70s. Some worse than others, but it's fairly inescapable. If we get Saban we're not getting the Saban we remember. Also, Saban said the reason he retired is other schools were using his age in negative recruiting. I don't doubt that LSU is trying, but to me it's a long shot.

I’ll believe it when I see it. But man would that be a story.

25 million per year? No way

There's exactly one man worth $25 million a year for 4 years, and it's who it's reportedly been offered to.

Who knows if this is even true, but Neuheisel is a legit source for sure so him saying this is definitely raising eyebrows.

Send word to Saban I'll chip in a hundred bucks. We just need him a few years to get us to point of a new batch of quality coaches emerging.

LSU could do this if they increase ticket prices.....woops! How ironic.

Why can’t we make Saban the AD and let him hire a coach?

That seems more likely and a better fit than him coming back as head coach?

I spoke with one of my fraternity brothers over the weekend. He works for one of the members of the search committee. According to him Saban turned down $15 million/yr for 5 years on Friday. However, according to him there are multiple boosters who are firmly in the Saban or bust category and will just not take no for an answer. As of this weekend they were in the process of putting together an even better offer for Saban.

That would nearly double his lifetime earnings. He's only earned about 150 million over his career. Would set his family up for multiple generations.

He didn't really fall off at the end. Other teams started catching up to his rosters or he would lose to a generational quarterback.
