Not necessarily. Coaches have their own systems and networks to pull from. It’s not like the draft where everyone is pulling from the same board.

I just responded to a ranter about people who post stuff and have zero idea what they are talking about...someone put Toles as a returning TE. I told him I just don’t read if the OP is completely wrong on the subject. Well, this is some shite! I come here with a cited article from a source who is supposedly in the business and they can’t even get the damn names correct? What has our media become. What has our lazy arse society become? I hope they don’t get paid for that garbage!

When you tell me the list is:Odom, Freeman, Richards, and Leonard, you’re essentially giving me a poor(according stats this year, 110th in total D) DC and 3 guys that you can’t get in Freeman, Richards, and Leonard. And then by saying you’d look at those other guys if you “can’t get Odom” you’re trying to sell Odom to me as the guy that was your top choice in the first place. This piece has Derek P and Propaganda written all over it!

Fickell turned down Michigan St, a solid program with a track record of success up until a couple of years ago. Why would he take the NW job, which is a much tougher place to sustain success and win big. Assuming Fitzgerald leaves, he’s better off staying at Cincinnati and waiting for the next job to open.

Agreed! With NFL talk about Day already Fickel should stay at Cincy for a year or 2 until Day bolts. Outside of Ohio St there’s about P5 jobs better than anything in the Big10. Had they let Harbaugh go or had he gone to Detroit I could’ve seen him going to UM because of programs history and $, but I think even a USC or Oregon are better destinations along with about 5 SEC schools before the second best Big10 job!

So Barry Odom is their #1 choice? Of all the defensive coordinator options in the country?? The guy whose defenses just surrendered 48.5 points a game over nearly the last half of the season and his claim to fame is slowing down Ole Miss?

I like old him. He is familiar with FCC play and cultures and has been a head coach. I think he would be a good recruiter

If Orgeron hires Odom, I’ll just quit following the team completely. They’ve quit trying and it’s become Orgeron’s country club because he doesn’t know how to hire and manage real staff. Just buddies he gets along with.

So anytime you don’t like the hire it is one of his buddies. What is orgerons connection to Odom other then both coaching in the sec. guy is a good coach. Well respected. Dc on a really bad team. His past as a dc was good. He isn’t old. I think 44 or so. I don’t know if he is my first choice. But I wouldn’t call him a country club buddy of orgeron.

What a dumb post. Odom is legit. How is he a buddy? They have no connection.
LSU would be better without you as a fan.
