I all honesty, Tom Herman didn’t do a bad job at all. Texas should have given him more time. No way he would have had a 5-7 season like Sark.

You people are obsessed with Napier.

Embarrassing.

At this point, I agree

Who cares what he's doing except for roaming the State and recruiting a few kids. We're good.

I think he’ll do a good job there, but no way in hell can you convince me that he’s better than coach Kelly.

I agree. Why would someone who has been successful jettison the approach that's made them successful, and the people that have helped make them successful? I think the guy has earned the benefit of the doubt at this point. At least compared to a bunch of internet morons.

Freeze brought EVERYONE from Arkansas State with him to Ole Miss. I was nervous as hell when he did that and didn’t make any hires that were known at the time.

Turns out that staff was pretty damn good and led us to some great years. He’s surrounding himself with people he trusts and knows that he can get results from. I wouldn’t worry too much about it

Drinkwitz only brought in 2 guys I think from Appalacian State. Drinkwitz hires coaches from different places. He hired a former NFL DC and was a HC but he got fired. He started out pretty bad but at the end he got the defense going in the right direction.

Yep. This isn't a fantasy draft. Successful coaches hire coaches who they trust and who share their philosophy. Bringing a cancer into the coaching staff is worse than bringing one into the locker room.

Gimme a fukin break. What bad moves did he make? Bringing a few coaches who he trusts, and know how he wants to run a program with him?

Yeh, I was interested in Napier, but this aint gonna cut it in the SEC. Glad we let him go experiment elsewhere.

Solely made up of dudes from ULL including naming his strength coach as associate HC like he was in Laffy.

He can maybe make it work if he hires the right OC/DC but right now just looks like he's getting his boys a Payday

Please stop....as an LSU fan this make us look so weak...trying to beat down UL and a coach that was wanted by just about everyone looking for a coach. Why would you beat down a coach that broke every record at UL and has them nationally ranked when we can't even smell the Top 25 right now..

I've seen this tragedy before, we all have.

I know coaches want people they are familiar with but at this level, the SEC and P5 program, you have to go out and find not the best fit, but the best. You determine if you are comfortable with them in the interview.

This was part of Chad Morris' downfall. A bunch of pandhandle and E Texas guys at Ark that some should still be coaching HS. And it showed on the field.

This makes me question if he was actually turning down all of these SEC jobs. Maybe he told these big time programs such as Auburn that he wanted to bring most of his ULL staff with him and they told him to get lost.

He has brought 2 on field coaches from UL. One is a RB coach with SEC experience who just coached a kid from Erath, LA to being a starting RB in the NFL as a rookie and a freshman from New Orleans to all conference honors. The other just coordinated the 11th ranked defense in the country and he brought him as a safeties coach. The other coach is his strength and conditioning guy who he trusts. He also has worked at Alabama, Florida St, Georgia, and Texas A&M.

Time will tell if Napier is as good as some people think he is. However, these threads scream of desperation and a lack of knowledge just because he coached in Lafayette. We made a good hire. Let's focus on that for now instead of looking dumb by grasping at straws for another program's hire.

There’s a lot of people on this board who don’t know anything about running a program but are quick to shite on a guy hired and paid millions to run a program. Tigerdroppings is the mothership of Monday morning QBs. Half the guys here probably never even put on any type of sports uniform.

I'm struggling to understand your point here. Are you saying Saban runs his program like a Sunbelt program?

You seem to imply that Napier doesn't know how to run an SEC program because he's been running Sunbelt program. Then you say he's copying Saban.
