State needs to suck up their pride and bring Mullen Back. Makes way too much sense.

Mullen will be the new Syracuse coach on Monday at the latest.

Looking like Lebby may be announced sooner rather than later.

I am seeing some blow back on Lebby due to his Art Briles situation at Baylor. Briles is also his FIL. He even pissed off Oklahoma this year with something to do with Briles.

He had Art on the sidelines with him this season. Pretty tone deaf move from Lebby. I understand that’s his father in law but if he had any kind of PR sense he would be distancing himself from Art as much as he can at least professionally

$6m a year does seem steep for a coordinator with no HC experience. Wonder if it's incentives up to $6m. They offered Chadwell $6.5m from what I was told. I knew State would have to overpay for a sitting coach but not for a coordinator.

6m for lebby is crazy. These contracts are nuts.

Might that be he want to get out of OU as soon as he can for recruiting and get the coaching staff set up then hit the recruiting trail and transfer portal.

Mullen hated crootin' when he could sign future first round picks within a three hour car ride. That'll be 10x harder in NY state. With portal and NIL, recruiting/retaining players is much harder now than 5 years ago. The days of the "development coach," in big time CFB, are over.

I have seen it mentioned here several times by non State people. I'm sure Selmon is treading lightly and doing a thorough due diligence. I knew of the Briles thing at Baylor but never knew anything about Lebby. Didn't even know who he was until a couple of weeks ago. Ole Miss folks know him. You guys have any "whispers" while he was at OM?

Yes, he was implicated and named in helping cover some stuff up. Before we hired him, I read the (extensive) wiki on the Baylor scandal and it's pretty gross overall. State fans should take the time to do so. I actually opposed his hire as OC for that reason at Ole Miss. I'm sure there are other things in the scandal that didn't come to light too. I think a recent article came out with a girl suing a former RB and Lebby was mentioned in that cover up as well (He was Art's RB coach at Baylor)

If OM folks oppose the hire, I'm all for it. They must be scared of him bringing Kendel with him and building something

What do you specifically think he was guilty of?

What do you mean you opposed it? You did not support Ole Miss while he was the OC?

No Ole Miss fans are opposing this hire. The only two coaches that would have worried me were Chadwell and Sumrall. Lebby may work out and be great but he’s not a coach that worries me

Perhaps because he has a 22-4 record as a head coach.
Surprised State isn't taking a hard look at him.

Lebby to State, Stoops to A&M (lol), and Sumrall to Kentucky

Sumrall is a flop waiting to happen at the next level.
