Nothing is bothering me by asking a question if there is essentially an end in sight to paying for college coaches.

Well go offer saban 50 million a year if there is no dialing back

At what point do these numbers start to stabilize?

Realistically, schools like Kentucky wont sniff the playoffs and schools are putting up these numbers. Boosters are just ok with that?

The SEC payout on TV money alone is projected to more than double over the next ~5 years as a result of all the conference realignment that is set to happen.

All of these SEC schools are getting a massive injection in cash, and the coaches and agents know this. If anything, these new "market rate" contracts are in line with what restructuring is creating.

Good lord. This shite is out of control. Saban made $8.6 million in 2020 as the nation's highest paid coach. 2 years ago. Now that's the going rate for Kentuckys coach.

Again, there is nothing that suggests you are right. Sorry dude

Booster have money falling out of their pockets. They are super rich and getting richer. To them it's about being an insider.

I’m also sorry you can’t fathom the possibility of knowing a wealthy person. Says a lot

Tells you how much the game has changed money wise when the head coach of Kentucky is pulling down 8.6 million a year.

The ceiling for Kentucky is winning seasons and good bowl games and there is nothing wrong with that. Stoops is a good coach and he might just be there long enough to take the next step.

This is a depressing thought. Mediocrity is the goal.

You AU fans think yall are so elite, you would be luckey
to hire a coach as good as Mark Stoops. The job he has done at Kentucky is incredble.Go look at their history and you
would know Im right.2 years ago yall had to hire your 10th
choice and yall are turning your noses up at a very good
coach.I hope as an LSU fan we keep playing yall after the
division changes,I love beating AU.

Some years, it's just not going to work. Staff, players, chemistry, there's a lot that goes into it. This Kentucky team is still decent but still underachieving. At Kentucky. A team going to a bowl is underachieving, but they're still stable. They'll probably bounce back next season although they're gonna lose a few good players. He's worth the money to them, it's a good investment.

Another coach I hope gets a lifetime contract, along with Jimbo and Napier.

You hired Hardin. A coach no one had ever heard of.
