Except it’s not bullshite. Players on the team and part of that leadership council posted publicly on social media calling Lane a liar when he said the team asked him to stay

Didn't players also say no one was getting on that plane with him except his brother?

Or there was a 9-3 vote in favor of Kiffin coaching the CFP. That’s 75%.

There’s obviously about 25% of the players who are pissed at Lane leaving for LSU. Seems they are the outspoken ones.

This is not a majority rules type of thing, so in order for him to continue coaching, it would have to be unanimous. You can’t have those overly emotional outspoken players against Lane screwing up the locker room while he’s trying to keep it together.

Was about to comment this.

Lane handled this shite about as good as he could have, despite the best efforts of the Ole Miss AD.

I read the Athletic article. “A team source”.

It just reads like more CAA propaganda. Especially the part about him genuinely being torn. I feel like if he was torn, it was because he couldn’t decide between LSU and Florida. For all his success, he’s wanted out of Oxford since he got there, and despite Ole Miss giving him everything he ever asked for and more, he finally punched his ticket. We’ll see if LSU makes all of his dreams come true.

Everything except a massive stadium, a recruiting hotbed, and a school players want to attend without dropping bags of cash in the portal.

Besides all that, yeah.

They knew it was better to have him on the sidelines than not.

Hopefully Tulane can prove that he should have been allowed to stay and coach!

Meh. frick him. He left to go to a rival school instead of staying to finish what he started. He had a choice and he chose to leave early. He isn’t entitled to the opportunity to win a national championship, especially when he’s going to leave to go to LSU.

So frick the other LSU coaches that didn’t stay to finish, right? Send them back and let the “Golding Era” really begin.

He signed more 5 star recruits in a week at LSU than he could in 6 years at Ole Miss.

That can't be true. That would mean the Ole Miss AD and players were butthurt and lying.

Ole Miss from top to bottom has been absolutely pathetic and compulsive liars about the entire ordeal. They deserve this
That, plus the mass "Bird Flipping" send off for LK at the Oxford cow pasture "Airport" has me doing something I've never done before.

I'm pulling for the Tulane Green Slime to win a football game.

Go Green Wave rollin down the Field.

Many of you on here have no idea how intense the LSU-Tulane rivalry used to be and how much we used to dislike the Tulane fans. (Think a slightly more "Uppity" version of Southwest Louisiana Junior College at Lafayette fans with the same "Jealous of Big Brother" attitude).

I’m not sure why LSU fans care to keep talking about this. We would not have wanted him to coach these games either for incredibly obvious reasons. Not to mention LSU did in fact hire their coach away from them, during the season, so pretending as if all would have been well if the staff remained in tact for the playoffs is not a good faith argument. Hiring him during the season was the only way LSU was going to get him, and it was well within their rights to do so. LSU caused this but has no reason to feel bad or otherwise critique Ole Miss handling of it.

The main friction here is that Ole Miss is simply not the level of program as LSU, and was always vulnerable to this type of thing happening. That won’t get fixed with a championship either
