I'm not sold either way at this point but do you really think he would tell 17 and 18 year old kids that he was actually going to leave?

I just don't think he's that stupid.

Right now, he's the coach at Alabama and Mack Brown is the coach at Texas. I'd assume he's continuing to run things that way.

You seriously believe Saban would indicate to recruits he's leaving for Texas? New to CFB, are you?

I agree that his reputation will take a huge hit when he goes, but once he starts winning it really won't matter to Texas at all

He could avoid the question. Instead of telling them outright that he's staying. Duh.

Why in gods name would he tell high school recruits he is leaving? Of course he is going to say he is staying at bama regardless of what he does

Why do you bammers keep using what Recruits say as indications of where he's going?? If he's going to be able to lie to anyone, it's going to be 18 yo kids.

Give me an example of how you would avoid the question: Coach are you leaving?

Legit sources, bro.

Yeah, this time he'll be leaving the GOAT job....

This would be no worse than leaving Michigan State. You just want it to be worse to feel better about your lot.

Which may have happened. I don't think you can expect perfect transcription from recruits. The "recruits say he's staying" argument is by far the weakest I've seen, and I'm not at all convinced he's leaving.

He's still on Alabama's payroll, hence he's till recruiting for Alabama.

If he's dodging a question posed by recruits, it basically tells them that he's leaving.

I just don't understand this argument.

Do you really think he'd tell 18 year old kids?

He did the same thing while at LSU. He recruited up until the last second, told all the recruits (and even current players) that he wasnt going anywhere. I dont blame him tbh, thats what you have to do. Things change sometimes so its not actually done until its done.

Coaches have never lied to recruits before? These guys are actually pretty good at selling whatever they want to high school kids.

Right now Saban is the Coach at Bama and is continuing to work in that role. I'm not saying he's leaving but if he was, something could fall through or he could change his mind. I can't see him just mailing it in at Bama even if he was trending toward the Texas job.
