I get the impression he's going to "meet" and "decide" it's in UT's best interest if he steps aside from being the HC and take a different position that helps the program

Nice work by the Texas guys to address the situation with a minor deflection and make this presser about the bowl game. The real fireworks will come later as expected.

Mack is getting the Joe Kines treatment. they will give him some mickey mouse in -house position where he has an office with a pencil sharpener in in it and a secretary to book his tee times. lulz

Its likely a PR move. Deflect until the meeting and then "talk it over" with the new president. Decide "i just can't take the grind anymore" and take an office job with the University, get a fat check and gtfo of Saban's way.

storybook. he gets to go out "on his terms" and Texas gets the coach they want. too easy.

it corroborates with Saban only coming if Mack leaves on good terms, they may want to spin it to be his choice so Saban doesn't have ill will towards him for "pushing him out"

That's at least 3 recruits in 2 days saying he's not leaving.

If he does leave, it will be far worse than Miami (or LSU). He will be run through the mud forever, and his rep will never recover.

I just don't think he's that stupid.

I wish someone would come bamboozle my team and win 3 national titles in 7 seasons. That'd be great!

I don't get why we feel the need to think of Saban in LSU/Miami terms. He's been there (Bama) longer than anywhere else. He might leave. He might stay. Either way, Bama should be thrilled for what he did for them - just like LSU should be.

Don't rain on their parade. These are the types of fans my brother tells me about in Louisiana. He moved to New Orleans a couple of years before Saban took over at Alabama. He said he literally had LSU co-workers tell him with a straight face that the Sabans were miserable in Tuscaloosa and were trying their best to get back to LSU. This was like Saban's first two years at Alabama. After it became apparent that wasn't happening, they continued the "Sabans are miserable in Tuscaloosa" theme and said he was leaving for the Cowboys, Penn State, West Virginia, Texas, Cleveland, and now Texas again.

It looks like the 8th time is the charm so don't be bringing logic in here and just let them have their fun.
