1. Deflated game footballs

2. He changed the jersey numbers of a backup quarterback and punter during a game against 1-10 Colorado while attempting a two-point conversion during a 50-6 win.

3. refused to allow visiting teams to hold walk-through practices at the Coliseum before USC home games, claiming it was the venue's decision, even though Coliseum officials said it was USC's call.

4. Attempted to ban a beat writer from practice for reporting on a player injury and stormed out of a media session when another writer asked about the impact of a previously injured player's return.

5. Voting his team pre-season #1 and then lying about it

6. Criticizing coaches for trying to recruit his players after USC was put on probation, only to turnaround and go to Penn State to do the exact same thing.

7. Having Janzen Jackson lie to LSU coaches and then delay his signing by a day so a safety from Atlanta would think that Jackson would go to LSU and sign with Tenn on NSD

8. Had to apologize to Urban Meyer after announcing that Myers had violated recruiting rules in pursuing wide receiver prospect Nu'Keese Richardson when in reality he had not.

9. Lost out on a Alshon Jeffery after telling him that if he didn't sign with Tennessee and stayed in-state, then he would end up pumping gas

Going to call a spade a spade, this is the type of behavior that should have everyone very weary of the current intel

Ah, these are some great blast from the past memories from Lane. Explains this entire situation doesn't it?

I don’t remember many of these, but Janzen Jackson has one of the wildest stories out there

But should we be wary? I don't really care how tired we are.

To be clear...he has a history of being a sneaky bastard in recruiting and in public statements...

...but if he is OUR sneaky bastard Im pretty okay with it.

None of this is to say that he can really do that in negotiating a coaching move.

as long as you’re ready for it and have your backup (not Drink) lined up and ready to go then it’s fine. Have 2 or 3 backups lined up ideally.

if they are just twiddling their thumbs right now waiting for Lane then we deserve a shitty hire if and when this goes south

2024 - 10. He kept going for it on 4th down in the LSU game last year and was directly responsible for his team losing that game that they led the entire game (until they lost in OT).

He's got a long history of eye-opening character flaws but that doesn't mean he can't change/grow up. Seems to have done that at FAU and Ole Miss. While 95% of LSU fans seem goo goo eyed over Lane there is no guarantee he will step into the meat grinder of pressure that will come with taking the LSU job and have success at the level expected by the fanbase. Odds are he wont. Up to now he's never won anything of consequence his entire career as a head coach other than some bowl games.

He's comfortable and under way less pressure at Ole Miss and having a lot of success and is about to have his first shot to win something legit. The Florida job would also come with high expectations and similar pressure so whatever decision he makes will be very interesting. I find this whole thing highly entertaining because the meltdown at two of these schools will be epic.

It’ll be worth it just for the melt on the Rant when he leaves LSU at the altar for his next job

Because it helps explain why he’s allowed the current situation to turn into a total shite show

Sounds like a really cool winner. Would be nice to have him as a coach.
