He would be able to recruit extremely damn well in Texas.

Look at how Saban recruits. Every year someone claims to know that he paid for a recruit - Landon Collins, Cam Robinson, Cyrus K (not gonna try to spell it), Yeldon. The list goes on.

Either Texas doesn't care about the smoke around Saban, or that's all it is - smoke.

lol...Saban is recruiting at Bama, not freakin' Clemson. Swinney has been pulling recruits from schools that immediately had people wondering what he is really up to. Saban and Miles are the kind of dirty that is polished and passable by big time college standards. A lot of people are not so sure about Dabo.

Not better than Keving "19 inches" Sumlin, so it doesn't matter to me. But it is extremely important to hire someone who knows Texas recruiting. Texas won't hire an outsider for this job.

They're forbid from hiring any ASU coach. It's in the new presidents contract.

Of those listed, I think Franklin would be a great hire. He's winning at Vandy. Imagine what he could do at Texas.

Wasn't Mack an outsider?

He was at OU and Nebraska before coming to Texas, and thus he knew texas recruiting very well.

Yep. He had no ties to Texas.

He is also the world's oldest looking 62 year old who isn't from a third world country.

wrong. He coached at two schools who heavily recruit Texas. Quit posting nonsense when you don't know wtf you're talking about.

Jesus Christ. He was a position coach for one year at LSU and an OC for one year at Oklahoma. The most recent of those positions was 14 years before he was hired by Texas.

I'll be nice and give you two pieces of advice.

First, don't try to call me out. You will only look stupid. I'm much smarter than you, and I know what I'm talking about.

Second, don't try to call anyone out when you have a really fricking weak attempted call out.

Nice edit, genius.

You're not smarter than anyone on this thread, least of all me. Mack knew the area well enough, much more than Franklin, and more importantly he wasn't who Deloss wanted to hire (he was overruled by some boosters-sound familiar?). Don't post when you have no clue what you're talking about.

K.

Thanks.

Bye.

He was at OU for 1 season. When was he at Nebraska?

Regardless. Franklin is recruiting very well at Vandy (for Vandy standards). He's recruiting in the best conference in college football...I think he could handle recruiting at a school that can recruit itself.

You're still coming back?

Tell me when Mack was at Nebraska.

There wasn't a single person in the world who thought of Mack Brown in 1998 and said "Oh yeah, wasn't he the OC for one year in Norman? That's definitely why he got the job."

The guy was 14 years from being anywhere near Texas. More importantly, he was never a part of the SWC. You realize at this point, you are basically hanging your hat on Brown being a positional coach in Ames and an OC in Oklahoma, in the days of the Big fricking 8 as your "evidence" that Mack had Texas ties.

And on top of that, you are trying to call me out?

My opinion means that much to you?

I said I can't see Franklin leaving because I didn't think they would offer it to him.

Now if they did, , like the other poster said, he'd be crazy to turn it down; that's when I said I agree.

Got it now?
