MARK HUDSPETH-PASSING GAME COORDINATOR/MISSISSIPPI STATE
Age: 42
Hudspeth came to Mississippi State from the University of North Alabama, where he spent seven seasons as head coach at the University of North Alabama, where he was 66-21, including three trips to the National Semifinals. He has also served as offensive coordinator at the United States Naval Academy. Hudspeth was considered to be a strong candidate for the job at ULM a year ago, but financial considerations for assistant coaches reportedly was a sticking point. He has also coached at Delta State, Central Arkansas and Nicholls State. (photo courtesy of mstatesthletics.com)

GARRICK MCGEE-OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR/ARKANSAS
Age: 37
McGee is in his third year as Quarterbacks Coach of the Hogs and his first as offensive coordinator. He came to Arkansas from Northwestern University and was the offensive coordinator there as well. He's also coached at Toledo and with the Jacksonville Jaguars. McGee is a graduate of Oklahoma and is rumored to have an interest in the job.

Mark Hudspeth is a guy who built up Northern Alabama to where they are today, took the job at Miss St to get an FBS head coaching job. Garrick McGee is a very good recruiter who can coach up quarterbacks.

Hudspeth would be a good hire.

Why would any up and coming coach want to ruin his resume' by going to USL for a few years and then be fired?

please please please take Crowton away.

Really? Do y'all just hope that Dan Mullens and/or Petrino taught them everything they knew?
I still think the perfect candidate for ULL is Ogeron. In the Sun Belt you can out talent anyone and he'd probably have a team that was just as talented at ULL as he did at Ole Miss. Hell, half his team at Ole Miss was the second tier talent that LSU didn't take. If he got all that talent to go to ULL they would run over everyone in the Sun Belt.

Dude made Troy Edwards a first round draft pick. He's a freaking wizard.

The same thing was said about Mullen under Meyer.

Why would Ogeron take the ULL job when he makes more than Bustle and his assistants at ULL?ULL can't afford Ogeron.

Because it might he his last chance to be anything other than a defensive line coach.
If he gets fired after a few years he can always get another DL coach/recruiter slot in the SEC or with Kiffen.

Hudspeth has been a very good head coach before, McGee is a young guy who's a Petrino disciple who's supposed to be a very good recruiter.

I think ULL can pay him a decent salary, not to mention he gets to be head coach where he would likely succeed and the fact that USC is on probation and it looks like Kiffin will not be at USC that long anyway.
ETA: From a quick search, it looks like Orgeron makes $650K at USC and Bustle made $250K at ULL.
