Orgeron is pricing himself out of a head coaching job

I think he would be taking a pay cut if the rumors are true about what he is asking you guys to pay.

He's not going to get another major job unless he wins at a smaller school.

Someone will give him a shot. Until then, I'm sure he is content making his 1 million per year, or whatever it is.

I'm saying he's not going to get a head coaching job any time soon making what he makes at USC. If he wants to become a head coach, he'll have to take a pay cut and prove he can be a head coach. If not, he could always be someone's recruiting coordinator/dline coach.

People are saying Monken is the lead candidate so far, hello option, goodbye quarterbacks and receivers.

But what can any of them do with basically a High School team to work with?

ULL is a losing team in the worst conference...

I am bigger than most of the players on the ULL team.

Sometimes the majority is wrong. Actually, a lot of time the majority is wrong.

Yeah, no other team should try to be good or anything. Do you realize how dumb that sounds? It's a good thing if a mid major's coach leaves for a better job, that makes the mid major a more attractive job.

Not trying to bust your chops but ULL isnt really a mid major. Its more like a mini major, I guess.

Sun Belt teams barely are considered Div 1.

If you cant win in the Sunbelt, you might as well move down to compete. Just being honest.

Memphis, Marshall, etc. Those are mid major teams.

Ruh roh. Now you've gone and done it! And you had the gall to refer to them by their legal name, and not Louisiana!

Honestly, most people outside of the state of La. have never even heard of ULL.

I got no dog in your hunt either just have lived in Lafayette since 1973 and all you have to do is observe. RC football has no local respect much less nationwide recognition like the schools mentioned above. That is just the bottom line fact.

I live in New Iberia. My family went to SLI, then USL, which is now ULL. Hell two of my uncles are legends there. I really want to pull for the Cajuns. However, I would much rather they play to the level of their competition and win 7-10 games consistently each season rather than try to compete with the SEC and Big 12 schools. I am just convinced that all this does is hurt their recruiting which only leads to 3-5 wins a season. It's hard to be attracted to that?
I'm all for the Cajuns stepping down a notch and start dominating McNeese, ULM, Lamar, Northwestern etc... again. I would start attending games again in order to watch some of these closer games.

Man, we play money games for one reason... money. All Sun Bet teams do it, even Troy.

But Troy actually competes and scores TD's once in awhile.

We beat Kansas State and were leading Oklahoma State at halftime this year before losing 5 defensive starters to injury.

Wouldn't the players on the team rather WIN? I know as a fan I'd rather see my team win.
Does the athletic department really see the bulk of that money, or is it disbursed throughout the school?

Bas Clas hit the nail on the head as well. All the "money" games in the world don't bring home the change when you loose, loose, loose money game or not. Compete at the level you can and be successful, why is that so difficult. You have no identity except a cutsie name and a Napleon complex and some dancing pepper.

I'm not sure but I'd think it mostly go to the Athletic Department. It's money we need at least until the RCAF is big enough to where we don't need to play them.

You have no idea how things work, the only reason we play the money games is FOR MONEY not to try to shock the world. Why is that so hard to understand?

I don't think ULL should only schedule mini majors, but maybe one BCS school per year, and a lower tier one like Baylor, Vandy, Duke, Ole Miss or a team like that.

Get your money, but get your wins as well.
