We played Ole Miss this year and we played them very well for a half but our depth caught up with us, we were dressing a lot of walk-ons due to injury.

when you loose the "MONEY" games and the non-money games you loose, that is easy to understand.I wish they would go back and get to the status of best in the state at their level not at "Ole Miss for a half level". Dominate the state at that level would be a GREAT start and who would not want to come to Lafayette for 4 years over Monroe, Ruston or Lake Chas?????

We're gonna get to the level of dominating the second tier of the state, I sincerely believe that.

Only real competition is Tech, ULM, and McNeese. Scratch McNeese, they're FCS.

Leaves Tech and ULM.

Ruston and Funroe are shite holes, with inferior facilities to ours.

Tech has a nice coaching staff...Todd Berry has done a nice job in his first year at ULM.

But with a good coach, the city of Lafayette coupled with our facilities trumps all that IMO.

I agree Iamthehat but you have to put butts in the seats and get the students and townsfolks behind you. You cannot expect to increase season ticket sales offering them at 2/1 AFTER seasonholders have bought theirs and depending on local businesses for the majority.

Wow, that's not saying much for ULM and LaTech. I do think Lafayette could pull more recruits than either of those two. I just think getting a decent coach there is going to be the difficult part. With the budget cuts going on they aren't going to spend a lot on a coach.

Perhaps, but you have to realize that Tech plays in the WAC, a semi-legitimate conference, while ULL plays in the Sunbelt. The only thing worse than the Sunbelt is the SWAC. Louisiana Tech is historically a much better program than ULL.

You don't watch much news do you? The WAC is barely hanging on for dear life. The Sunbelt schools are starting to spend more money, and they are also in better recruiting locations than most WAC schools, so if a few of them hit on some good hires, it won't be long before they surpass the WAC in a big way.

Hence the "semi-legitimate." Up until Saturday one of their members was being considered for a spot in the National Championship Game. That lends them some sembelance of credibility.

Parrott thinks he's just posturing. Bob Marlin said he wasn't interested in the job a week before he took it.
