We don't have to just imagine it.

He had legit reasons otherwise he wouldn't have picked it. The world doesn't revolve around LSU even though it's an extremely good job. There were things LSU couldn't control that were the deciding factor.

Dude has spent his entire life in that part of the country. Takes a lot to get someone to leave their comfort zone. shite happens. Could be a blessing in disguise.

Imagine being 0-2 vs Notre Dame in the past decade. Bowl games matter.

I can't believe I'm reading this. Another example of LSU fans thinking they are waaaay more important than they are. Someone that's starting watching football way back there in 2000.

LSU is a brand in Louisiana, se Texas and south ms.
Notre dame is a global brand.

Dude, a job at Notre dame is way more prestigious and it isn't close. This op was a gem.

Imagine growing up in LA, going to school in LA, working in LA, and all your family lives in LA, then turning down a job on Wall Street

Even with the money it’s risky to take a job with a guy who fired coordinators after 1 season.

Doesn't have to play in the SEC at least 8 games a year

I am guessing because LA hasn't kept up with the real world!

Same with Alabama. Same with any school in the south. Just the facts.

Well guys, someone figured it out. He was just about to sign the contract until someone brought up ND won 2nd tier meaningless bowl games over LSU 6 and 3 years ago. Changed his ENTIRE way of thinking.

The biggest negative working against LSU is instability. They just fired their DC they signed to ridiculous 3 year contract after 1 season and a vocal part of the fans and boosters want the HC gone now. Or at worst after next year if he doesn’t win the SEC.

If I’m another AD I say “do you want to move your family here were you will be paid well and have some degree of stability? Or do you want to move your family far away from home where those crazies will likely want you fired unless you make the playoffs?”

It's not hard. Notre Dame was a playoff team this year. We were 5-5. Ed Orgeron is our HC.
