re: If you don’t like a hiring of Tomlin, you are “a racist”

Statements like these are why most people view Clark as a racist with a agenda. I am a 53 year old white southern Army Veteran who is as conservative as they come and I absolutely love Mike Tomlin. He is a great coach and by all accounts I know a great man. But I could counter as great coach as he is has he ever coached college and recruited? He has been with the Steelers for close to 20 years. He has never felt with recruiting high school kids. Had to deal with players and grades and a million other reasons that are different between college and the NFL. As much as I like Tomlin, these questions would need to be answered

Why would a guy like Mike Tomlin, a 14 year HC in the NFL who is at or near the top of his profession want to coach college, where he has to spend a good chunk of every year traversing the country visiting 18 year olds? Doesn't make sense to me. And he's from Virginia, so it's not like he'd be coming home

Yeah, he even repeated it.

Haven't put much thought into Tomlin. My biggest reservation would be recruiting.
In any event, Tomlin is light years ahead of Mel Tucker on my totem pole. I'm confident Tomlin can coach. The jury is still out on Tucker.

Im not opposed to the hire, but why would Tomlin leave the Steelers to come to college? Nothing against my Tigers, but the Steelers is one of the elite sports teams in all of sports. That would be one hell of a pull by Woody if he got Tomlin to leave Pittsburgh to coach the Tigers!

Can someone explain why Tomlin would leave his HC job at Pitt to coach at the college ranks?

Says if you disagree for any reason, you are a racist

That's just an awesome way to drum up support for your candidate, by calling everyone potentially a racist. Clark is a retard.
Clark needs to be further away from the program.

Tomlin would be a great hire. Why would he come? Don’t know why a successful pro coaches name would suddenly pop up everywhere. Is this the diversity crowd moving on from Mel.

I would literally shite a brick if Mike Tomlin came to LSU. That would be a slam dunk. I dont think it happens though.

It's not wrong to ask the question regarding recruiting. That's a HUGE part of being a college HC, it goes without saying....Hell- MT might be awesome at it; I'm quite sure he could be- if that's something he truly wants to do.
But that has to be a top requirement for the job.

Who gives a shite? Mike Tomlin would be a fricking grandslam, and I’d be elated, but there’s no way he comes here. Ryan Clark has become an enemy to LSU in many ways. It seems like he does everything in his power to start shite. frick him

Exactly. Why have these threads. What motivation would Tomlin have to even pick up the phone

I don’t know how to feel about Tomlin just from a recruiting standpoint
Personally, I think Tomlin would crush the recruiting trail. His resume speaks for itself and I've always been a fan of his no bullshite style. You have to be great with a wide variety of people to hold the same NFL job for as long as he has.
If LSU hires Tomlin, it would be a grand slam for y'all, IMO.

The reality is that SW is pursuing a proven winner in the college game. This is Clark’s method to build media/political/social pressure to get his guy in as coach. I like Tomlin and think he would be a home run. I don’t like the method being used to promote him. Ryan Clark is a narcissist and ego maniac, plain and simple.

People that don't like Brady, wont like Tomlin for the exact same reason. Recruiting will kick them in the arse. They haven't done much of it, and they aren't going to enjoy dealing with these unproven little snots and their access to NIL.
Both will bolt, the first offer they get.

99.999999% of the fan base would be happy with this hire. Whites. Blacks. Everyone. Why be a divisive little shite and conjure up beef ? frick Ryan Clark.
