If lane ends up staying at OM, do they become LSU’s no.1 rival?

Always felt like bama was the game circled for lsu but this saga might knock bama off that pedestal

They’ve always been our biggest rival.

I guess it’s possible. Older LSU fans really dislike OM. Personally I’ve never really considered them a hardcore rival.

My personal rivals: Bama, A&M, and soon-to-be Texas as LSU and Texas start playing more often

I’ve always looked at OM as a sometimes pesky thorn… not really a rival in my mind…. And I don’t mean that at all as disrespect to OM… it’s just how I feel. But you may be right… maybe the Kiffin stuff will ramp that up a notch, we shall see

Bama for my generation. Ole Miss note even top 2.

With this, they would be.

I can only speak to how I feel… I can’t answer for all other LSU fans. It’s all subjective, but here’s how I see LSU’s rivals

Tier1
Bama
A&M

Tier2
OleMiss
Florida

Tier3
Arkansas
Auburn

Everyone else in the SEC I Feel nothing towards in regards to a “rival” conversation, with the exception of Texas as those games start getting played I think they’ll be in Tier1 for me

Since the SEC has now reduced everyone to only 3 annual opponents, out of Ole Miss, TAMU, and Arky the Rebs are easily the biggest rival of that bunch. Bama was always a big game even before Saban but it was just that, a big game against a familiar annual opponent but it wasn't the #1 game on the schedule. It escalated to that with the Saban connection, but he's gone now and no longer an annual matchup. It will lose some juice going forward. Florida and Auburn fell off and no longer annual as well.

I'm late 30s. Always hated OM but the series is so lopsided I kinda didn't care.

IDK about rivals, but UF, Auburn, and Bama always annoyed me. I know Bama's rival is Auburn but we've had some solid games and I feel like both teams kinda turn it up in this one, especially after Saban landed in Tusgaloosa.

Auburn/LSU in the 00s was peak SEC for me. Games were nasty and hard-hitting and gritty. It wasn't because of a coach, we just didn't like each other and tried to out MF each other.

Florida kinda the same but not to that extent.

Historically OM is a big one. My grandfather HATED them but its been hella lopsided as long as I've been paying attention.

If he stays I think things sorta stand pat for a bit. If he leaves then yeah, that game gets toxic quick.

I didn’t really care about ole Miss until I spent time around their fans.

I want to beat bama the most but I hate losing to ole Miss the most.

Lane has nothing to do with it.
