Would Bo Pelini consider coming back as DC?

He's head coach at Youngstown State after being fired at Nebraska and gets $2.8 million.

ETA: Just saw that the 2.8 million is current salary plus his annual Nebraska buyout, so that will decrease significantly after it is paid off, to around $220,000 a year.

Why would he leave a nearly 3 million HC'ing position? The goal of most HC's is to make a step up, not back.

Edited to show only $220k coming from YS. The rest is coming from Nebraska until buyout is paid.

I agree. But the reason I ask the question is where can Pelini advance from being HC at Youngstown?

He's either happy there permanently, or wants to pursue HC at another major school in the future.

Sometimes you take a small step back if it presents more opportunity to take a bigger one forward later.

would take, but not happening. It's incredibly hard to pull a HC to be DC, from any school.

And the 2.8M figure is just

Actually I just saw that the $2.8 million includes his buyout money from Nebraska.

His actual salary is much lower.

If he makes 200k. I can see the possibility of pulling him away. Bo is another great DC that isn't a HC.

Yeah I saw that. But once Nebraska's buyout is paid, he will make less at YS as HC than Aranda made at Wiscy as DC.

Any idea how much longer Nebraska is on the hook? this would make a lot of sense once the buyout is paid, he could still make 5x his salary from Youngstown.

Maybe Dooley will come back for special teams and we can get the old band back together.

Id take Strong over Bo. Bo hates recruiting as much as Chavis. Screw that, they need to be all in.

What is it with you people and Orgeron?? as bad as he was as a HC, he is totally unproven as a DC. No one has ever hired him to run a defense. Stop trying to give this guy a job he doesn't deserve.
