I don't even know where to start, so I'll just start off by saying you all are wrong. Very wrong. Insanely wrong. Let's dig into the details.

Les Miles biggest flaws:

-Stagnant offense

-0 ability to develop a QB

-clock management

-no real expertise at a position outside of OL, and his OLs have even underwhelmed

How Jimbo is different:

-FSU currently ranked 25th in total offense with a freshman QB. I'll be nice and not even show you the previous years under Golson and of course Winston.

-Jimbo has developed multiple 1st rounders at QB including 2 #1 overall picks (Russell, Winston, Ponder, Manuel). Currently has the 26 overall passing offense in CFB, again, with a freshman QB)

-Francois, the freshman QB mentioned, currently has a 60.8% completion rating, 2990 yards, and 17 TDs and 5 INTs

-Compare that to Mettenberger's last year at LSU-64.9% completion rating, 3082 yards, 22 TDs and 8 INTs

-Francois is on pace to have a similar if not better year as a freshman than ZM did in his final season at LSU, with the likes of Odell and Landry to throw it to. Moving on.

-I don't have a story where Jimbo has had clock management issues. Which is a good thing. Maybe an FSU fan can chime in.

Les Miles coaching resume':

-GA at Michigan

-OL coach at Michigan and Colorado

-OC for 2 seasons at Oklahoma State. I will spare you the numbers from these seasons, but they are bad.

- TE coach for the Dallas Cowboys

-HC Oklahoma State

-HC at LSU

-2007 SEC champion and National Champion, 2011 SEC champion

- all in all, Les Miles has coached OL, TE and been a HC

- Never won a conference or national title until HC at LSU

Jimbo Fisher Coaching Resume':

- GA/QB coach at Samford

-OC/QB Coach Samford

-QB coach for Auburn

-QB coach for Cincinatti

-OC/QB coach LSU

-OC/QB coach FSU

-HC/QB coach FSU

-National Championship in 2003 as OC, coached Jamarcus Russell who was drafted #1 overall, won ACC in 2012, won ACC and National Champion in 2013, won ACC in 2014

-Jimbo's offense at LSU currently holds 13 records

-Rohan Davey set 6 LSU records while under Jimbo as a first year starter

-Jimbo has been a QB coach since 1988, and was an OC for 11 years before becoming a HC

Most of you already know all of these things. But there are a select few who somehow believe these 2 coaches are similar, which is astounding when you look solely at coaching resumes'.

Jimbo and Les Miles could not be any more different. Please do us all a favor and stop saying Fisher is Les 2.0; it's an insult to Fisher and his accomplishments.

The people who actually believe he is Les 2.0 don't read facts anyway, but good post.

correct

but that doesn't seem to get the point across

he was also far more accomplished as an OC than Les was at any other position before becoming a HC

I think the only hang ups people have are:
1. Herman is new and exciting bc he may be the next Urban Meyer
2. Will Jimbo's offense succeed against Saban?
3. Jimbo's offenses often seemed stagnant at LSU, although I think we now know it wasn't Jimbo's fault.
4. FSU has been good, but not exceptional since 2013. The team sometimes looks unmotivated and emotionless.

The people who wouldn't be happy with Jimbo are goofballs.

Either Jimbo or Herman would be a home run for us

Jimbo is the safest hire, herman has most upside. Let's make one of them happen!

actually a myth when you look at the accomplishments

didn't want to copy and paste too much, but read through this. He was very accomplished as an OC at LSU.

I won't disagree with the rest of your post. This year FSU gets a pass IMO, as he is trying to find his way with a new DC (he wanted Pruitt to stay) and is staring Francois, a TF, at QB.

Keep in mind he won the ACC last year and went to the CFP. I know Oregon drummed them.

for the same reason many LSU wanted O until Saturday night. Because we are stupid people.

Not to mention, we were proven wrong. Just look at his accomplishments at FSU.

I encourage you to read his bio I linked above while at LSU. Pretty outstanding.

I posted this in another thread and I'll add it here, as it is relevant.

quote:

Dameyune Craig - Only QB in Auburn history to pass for 3,000+ yards in a season.
Rohan Davey - Only QB in LSU history to pass for over 3,000+ yards in a season. Most passing yards in any game, most completions in any game
Matt Mauck - Most completions and passing TDs in a season in LSU history. Won a National Championship
Jamarcus Russel - #1 overall pick, tied most passing TDs in a season
Matt Flynn - Won a National Championship
Christian Ponder - 1st round pick
EJ Manuel - 1st round pick
Jameis Winston #1 overall pick
Jake Coker (who couldn't beat out Winston and then went to Bama and played one year and won a NC).

His QB coaching alone makes him a yes. Then you add in that since he's been head coach, he's one of 3 coaches not named Saban to win a NC. He has the 2nd most top 10 finishes, only to Saban. Yeah, the guy is a really good coach. He's going to finish this year and still have a better head coaching resume than Jim Harbaugh. His college coaching resume is 3rd only to Nick Saban and Urban Meyer.
