Dude is 100% way over his head. Sunbelt = not ready for prime time.

Only year 2 and he has a good recruiting class.

Let’s see if he holds it. They’ve lost like 3 commits in the last two weeks.

I'm surprised it's not working out. I think it's not a great cultural fit. Billy isn't a bad coach but he'd fit in more culturally at MSU or Arkansas.

For the fact that he's a former Sunbelt coach, I dont think he's ready for either.

There a lot of good coaches that have come through the Sun Belt. Not sure why you keep mentioning that.

I am wondering how Scott Stricklin still has the AD job.

Eli Drinkwitz came from the Sun Belt to Mizzou and seems to be ready for it.

Hugh Freeze's first HC job was in the Sun Belt. Jeff Brohm has Louisville at 10-1 and in the ACC title game. his first HC job was WKU while they were in the Sun Belt. Those are just a few examples off the top of my head.

Gus Malzahn coached at Arkansas State in 2012, one year before winning the SEC championship and being a play away from a national title in 2013.

Florida probably has to stay with Sunbelt Billy another year. If he doesn’t get bowl eligible again then I don’t see how they can keep him.

The fact they currently have a better class than us is a major problem that BK has to correct.

Malzahn also had two miracle wins - Hail Mary and Kick Six- against his two biggest rivals, to go along with a bunch of close wins. Once the luck ran out he got out coached a lot.

He definitely had a lot of lucky breaks that year.

Still, to take a 3-9 team to the national title game like that deserves some kudos, luck withstanding.

You don't fire 4 head coaches in a ten year period and expect to be a viable football program. You have to give a coach a chance to build a program. SBB (although I perfer Bargain Bin Billy) should get at least one more year at a minimum and two more in order to truly evaluate the direction of the UF program.

Over the next two years BBB's recruiting classes will begin the shape the program and reveal if he was a good or bad hire.

In the meantime, the Tiger fans can all point their fingers and laugh at the UF Gaytors.

It's year 4 for him though. His seat was warm this time last year.

I'm not sure Florida will be as patient if Napier finishes year 3 without a winning record like Drinkwitz did.

Playing against UL-Lafayette when Napier coached there didn’t surprise me that he wouldn’t cut it in the SEC. He can recruit but I never thought he was a great Gameday coach. He tried his best to botch the game against App in 2020 intentionally taking a safety with like a minute left to give App a chance to tie it up late

The deep snapper had already had 3-4 bad snaps before that in that game. Evidently he couldnt handle snapping in cold wet conditions. That's the only thing that kept App in that game

The safety was damage control
