I remember posting something to the effect of: I hope BYU skullfricks our corpse." I believe I (rightfully) received a timeout for some of my comments.

Thanks! I should've just waited before putting a post on the board, but thought my reply got buried.

It was a dark and resigned feeling.

I remember I was at my girlfriend’s house when they Herman debacle happened and the announcement of Coach 0. I looked at her dad and said there’s no way this dude will get us over the Alabama hump and win a natty.

Boy was I wrong and right at the same time.

I think more of asking the question when he began his first full season: how will this end? Will O be fired eventually, retire, leave for another job, what?

The outrage was significant.

Oh yeah there definitely were some. I would say it was 70% melt, 20% wait and see, and 10% happy

Nah waaaaay more than 10% had bought in to the bullshite.

I’d say it was like 40% melt, 40% happy, 20% wait and see.

It certainly felt like those of us that were actively unhappy were in the minority.

Remember, a lot of the melt was about Herman backing out and Alleva getting used, not about LSU hiring the worst coach in Ole Miss history. Don’t confuse the two.

O had shockingly significant support.

I melted for weeks, then revisited the melt periodically for several months.

At the time, it felt like a swing and a miss and temporary.

If I recall correctly, there was at least one porn bomb permaban. But I may be thinking of something else. But it was like another poster said 70/20/10 melt/meh/happy. Though I think closer to 65/15/20 in reality.

The melt was a few days before when we were spurned by Herman. After that the O hire was expected. Fortunately, this time the list of quality candidates is much longer than it was then.

Second biggest meltdown for me. 21-0 is still the biggest.

there were a lot more than you would think. Won't admit it now though.

Yea it wasn't a majority melt at all. Probably 60/20/20. 20% melting and 20% neutral wait and see approach.

The real melt didn't happen until the Troy loss.
