Did either of those coaches have their team ranked in the TOP 5 when they were hired?

Dumb thread. Those guys had passed up their prime and had been fired at previous jobs.

Good thing he has experience rebuilding a blue blood as well as building up a perennial loser into a championship contender......

Expect LSU can give him an upgrade in talent where those hires were in reverse.

Wrong he has ND #4 in recruiting and was in the top 10 last year. If he can do that at ND, he can do better than that at lsu

You would take him over the options of bill O’Brien and stoops , wouldn’t you?

You have to look at the options

Because not taking anything he’s accomplished at Norte Dame, a job that he has spent the last 12 years establishing, but you expect him to walk into the SEC west and fix a program that has a serious culture problem, is expected to compete for playoffs and championships, compete against the best competition in the entire country, and to do all of this at the ripe age of 60 years old?!?! It’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Both those guys were has beens well passed their prime and out of coaching. Don’t want Kelly at all but this he’s not the same. Dude has an 11-1 team right now.

I guess you wouldn’t hire Saban or urban Meyer. Saban is 70 Meyer 57, Kelly 60.

Lol no. And if you can’t seee the differences it’s probably not worth the discussion. Brown was pushed out of Texas due to being stale and going nowhere. Kelly has Notre Dame still very close to the top. That’s with the added restrictions of not being able to recruit everyone you want due to academic restrictions. This is dumb.

No, but the fact that those are our options should really have you thinking about the bigger picture here. Why are we deciding between a turd sandwich or a piss latte?

Yep. Notre Dame's recruiting ground is garbage compared to LSU's. They're forced to recruit heavily OOS.

Will. Get his arse handed to him in recruiting.

He has the number 4 class this cycle and is always in the top 15 at the least sexy school to ever exist. Are you fricking serious that he would do worse with the academic shackles taken off of him?

Notre Dame is playing for a spot in the CFP.

What’s LSU doing?

There’s a positive.
