Sorry but if Lincoln Riley agrees to be your head coach but says to keep it quiet until he is done with the playoff, you don't panic hire someone else because he is available three weeks earlier.

I’m just telling you what LSU wants. 100%. They want someone the first week of December

All that was meant is Scott would like to see how Franklin handles the meat of his schedule. If he folds, doesnt mean he would be/wouldn’t be a good fit, but it could be the determining factor that sways SW to choosing Napier over Franklin of no. 1&2 fall through.

All that was meant is OP is full of crap. If that’s a determining factor, SW is flying by the seat of his pants.

I’m not jumping into the sauce pool again, but I can 100% confirm this is a big deal for several candidates that is overlooked by most fans/supporters

Riley would be worth it. Some recruits are being told that Riley is that man. Could be BS to keep them tuned in but it’s at least being said by coaches.

For sure, everyone wants that. But in list of priorities, getting the best possible coach is a good league ahead. Hopefully, OU loses a game and misses the playoffs and Woodward works some insane magic and pulls Riley.

I live in PA and it won't be Franklin. I also doubt Riley would jump.

That leaves Fickell or Napier. Take your pick.

Getting the best coach is more important than locking down recruits for one class in December

Scott is playing your uncle and you because he knows your uncle can't keep a secret. So obviously it's none of these guys. The list is probably, in no particular order:

Kiffin wide open offense

Big Game Bob Open you wallet and cross your fingers

Croom minority hire with SEC experience

Saban I just put him on here because I'm wondering who read this far

I don't believe you have sources, but I would be pretty good to very happy with anyone on that list. I think all could do well here. I think Aranda could too.

Until the leaked spurns and meltdowns begin later this year, this is a relatively stress free coaching search based on the candidates floating around.

You said last night Napier is out. Are you sticking to that?

translation: None of the 4 are actually on the list.

Woodward already knows that Fickell and Riley aren't moving. He also is not going to wait on a playoff run, and risk the home school opening up the bank, while he passes on others. And to say a G5 coach is ready to jump, but a P5 coach isn't.

And an AD worth his money isn't going to tell anyone (leak or not), "I hope my guy doesn't make a playoff run, so I can snatch him up."

2–Fickell—Scott loves him and thinks he can do amazing things here but isn’t sure he would leave his current job as he feels Fickell may stay put a couple years until a big time Big Ten job opens up.

Fickell already said no - your “source” would know this.

quote:

4–Napier—I know, I know, but Scott loves this guy. He thinks other than Riley, Napier is the best all around coach and could be our guy for the next 10-12 years with huge success. With this said, I’m not sure why he isn’t 2 on the list, but he isn’t.

ULL’s coach is not #4 on our list, and he’s not the best all around coach we have a realistic shot at

Also note, Scott isn’t convinced Aranda is ready for a big jump to a program like LSU.

But Napier is?

Kiffin he has no interest in bc of all his baggage

Where I knew for sure you’re full of shite. Kiffin doesn’t have baggage, he just acts like a 17 year old and he’s 46.
