Agreed , but 9 figures isn’t a little bump in money.

Lincoln Riley type offer. That's the best comp for Kiffin IMO. Young, exciting, offensive minded head coach that can recruit and has a great pedigree. Just an absurd offer Riley got with perks out the wazoo.

Don’t forget cost of living in aLabama is probably half what it is at usc.

So really the big difference is a better stadium environment and better chance to win a title, but you risk being fired in 2 years.

A) a coach than can command a $100M does not even in the back of their minds think they could fail.

B) If you have a $100M contract do you really care that much if you get fired?

With that said - I think it would be a mistake to give Kiffin a $100M contract

You're only at risk for being fired at Auburn after 2 years if you go winless in the SEC. This applies to every SEC school.

Yes he does

If that’s the case, the Panthers will get a dollar-for-dollar credit against his buyout depending on what he makes at his next stop. Quite simply, owner David Tepper would be saving himself a nice bit of money if Rhule catches back on at school.

Think about how many times lane has already been outbid for players and coaches.

That wouldn't happen at auburn.

What makes Auburn a better job than Ole Miss? Genuine question. I don't see Lane creating another shite storm for a little bump in money.

Well for one thing, when was the last time Ole Miss won anything better than bragging rights in the State of Mississippi?

Auburn program in the gutter and low balling a high profile candidate

Is not offering 6 figures lowballing? 6 figures basically means you are giving them a 10-year deal. The yearly salary may not be the issue but the duration.

ETA Meant 9 figure

6 figures?

Not since the early days of Tuberville has an HC made 6 figures at Auburn.
