Don’t get me wrong, I hope we hire an all star staff and I’ll be following. But we have an actual general in place for the first time since 2004. And BK has a tremendous track record of hiring assistants so I trust him even if it’s a lesser known name.

Feels good

Yeah not having to sweat every hire as paramount to success of the program due to the moron at the top is nice

Yall are crazy. The assistants are critical here for myriad reasons.

It feels good having a real competent leader for the first time in 15 years. Even crazier we have two and should be 3 titles in that span lol

What he is saying is you might not get all of your first choices but Kelly(who has a great track record of filling out a staff) will identify and get who he needs to be a championship team.

Look at Saban, dude loses half his staff every year. And they keep on winning. Wonder why?

They are important. We just trust the guy vetting them a lot more. He's not going to hire Bo Pelini without interviewing him

We just went from driving a Hyundai to driving a Benz in coaching comparisons. Not. worried. at. all.

They are critical but Kelly is a cold-blooded professional with a history of putting together solid staffs. It's not understating the importance to put faith in BK to nail the hires. Even if it's not names we're familiar with. For once we have a guy who'll approach it like a business, not a BBQ.

Just quoting to applaud your correct usage of 'myriad'

He’ll figure it out. Not everyone wants to coach in the sec. Better to find that out upfront.

Of course they are, I think the idea is just that there’s just trust in the guy at the top pulling the trigger on the decisions.

Yep. Not worried. Might not end up with the biggest names but I trust they'll be great hires

BK is a capable leader... arguably even a great QB developer.... Molds strategy to fit personnel (I think this is one of the biggest indicators of a great FB coach).

But nothing suggests he is some sort of scheme wizard. Coordinator & assistant hires will determine a lot RE: recruiting, transition, and overall success.

My guess is that people would rather celebrate the hire after months of psychological waterboarding than admit we have more waiting to do before anyone gets a sense of what direction we’re actually headed.

It’s very much a big deal.

Have you guys even watched ND? They aren't exactly on the cutting edge of modern offense and he is trying to bring the same guy here to call plays.

I am very worried about assistants.

Yeah. Kelly didn’t come here to lolligag and be content to be the LSU head coach. He can to win a championship. He will get the correct assistants in due time.
