I doubt very seriously that Woodward is going to make a decision on whether a coach’s team is ranked and his record over half a season.

Have you seen Franklin's upcoming schedule? He could lose as many conference games as Orgeron this year. And Ed is in the SEC.

@#5 tOSU (1 loss)
#6 Michigan (undefeated)
@#8 Michigan State (undefeated)

That could result in 5 B1G losses in the last 7 games of this year. He is not getting an offer if that happens.

He reps 12 of 14 SEC coaches including Saban.

Sexton about to use LSU to get Franklin more $$$ from PSU.

If that’s true, that tells me whatever negotiations he’s having (whether it be with USC, LSU, or PenmSt) they’re not going well.

He wants the LSU or USC job clearly, and hasn’t been offered either yet is my guess

Do NOT want Franklin. He would not be successful at LSU.

He would win on average 9 regular season games per year.

That is my thougth as well but I was going to give him 10 wins a yr...

He isn't competing against Les and O for the job. He is competing against Nappier, Aranda, Tucker, among others for the job

Yeah, this is the real story here. He already had a big dick agent in Armstrong who even works for the same firm. If he switched, that's because things have not been going well on negotiations front which probably has more to do with Franklin's on the field product than Armstrong's ability as an agent.

And Sauce. It's unsourced in the article but mentioned in point 3.

Theory: Franklin was offered the job by LSU. His first impulse was to accept, however his agent advised against it to get more money. LSU rescinds the offer and moves on. Franklin fires agent.

Someone on here posted the other day, can’t recall who, that the initial discussion between LSU and Franklin did not go well

FWIW, I do not want Franklin. I’d rather Napier or Aranda over Franklin. Of course if we can’t get Riley

So if Franklin changed agents to Sexton, why does that make anybody think that Woodward is leaning to Franklin?
Woodward doesn't care who his agent is.

Now if Franklin thinks Sexton will get him on Woodward's list that would make sense. But would SW be swayed by Sexton's bullet points on Franklin?

I'd be so pissed if I was that agent. Right as they are about to make a massive top 5 deal Franklin cans him? No fricking loyalty.
No shite, me too.

However, coaches (and players) always have to be on guard against these agents actually working for the school(s) or team(s).

The schools/teams sometimes literally buy off an agent to steer their client one way or another. Yeah yeah, unethical at the best and illegal at the worst. They are agents.... and they are for hire.

He said that Franklin would win 9 games per season here, that’s fewer than Les and O, hence my question.
