Frank Reich compiled a 40-33 record as the Colts head coach, a job he took in 2018 after Josh McDaniels opted out of it.

he thought Sam Ehlinger would buy him another year.

Colts need to make a play for a QB, bad.

Seems like the Colts just never were able to get it together post-Peyton. Reich will land somewhere, I don't think he was terrible.

idk the ehlinger move sounded like it came from irsay, I think he wanted to go full on tank mode to draft a QB

You mean post-Luck?

I thought it was to avoid certain benchmarks in Matt Ryan's contract that would trigger bonuses.

I think that was coming at end of season. Guess they just decided to pull it now

I had forgotten about that tidbit on McDaniels most likely they would have already been looking for another coach if they had gone with him in the first place

Damn and he started out very strong there. The attempts at recycling old QBs just didn’t work. He will land on his feet somewhere

I guess this answers my question. I somewhat thought they were losing on purpose.

Hopefully Saints give a hard look at him as either OC or HC next year.

Without knowing how much say/control he has in this, could have just been dealt a bad hand from a roster perspective.

Jonathan Taylor and that normally good Colts O-line have been non existent this year. No excuse to have one of the highest paid lines in all of football and be that bad.

Hendon Hooker would be a good option for them if they can't get Bryce Young or Stroud. That roster is pretty damn competitive outside of QB

No I mean post-Peyton. They made 1 AFC title with Luck and got blown out 45-7. Then they proceeded to force him into an early retirement when they refused to invest in protection for him.

I don't get this unless he's the GM who created their QB strategy. I think he's lost a few coordinators also.

He was a great OC with the eagles then they kinda went to shite when he left for indy

They’ve definitely had the weirdest QB situation in the league since Luck retired. He’ll be a HC again soon i think.

They probably want a young QB

I'd totally take him over Dennis Allen.
