LOL if Scott Woodward has waited this long to make the offer this board should fold like a tent and prepare for the worst. You're getting Mike Stoops.

Bingo. Would have wasted months without being able to close the deal. And we end up with lower Tier 2, at best and maybe tier 3.
That would be a waste of over $25 million to purge Ogre especially with a record smashing check for over $12 Million a year.

0% chance we’ve come this far and Woodward is only just now formally offering the job.

It's crazy how far behind the OU media and pay sites are on this.

There's no way in hell Woodward hasn't already offered him the job. He might be officially presenting with the contract to sign tonight if it's done like we're hearing. He obviously offered it to him a long time ago.

Imagine being a major, elite level business person who understands the timing and formality of when you “officially” offer a signable contract and other standard operating procedures and then seeing fricking yokel retards who can’t make sense of their cell phone bill criticizing it with complete confidence lol.

The absolute unwavering stupidity from people never ceases to amaze me

Formally... like he knows he accepts. Sure his agent has been discussing with Woody.

It’s plausible, and even likely, that all the details and discussions have been through agents and third parties to this point.

You melters are so dumb.

Woodward has offered no one the job. I guarantee he’s discussed terms with multiple coaches behind the scenes. Once those terms are set, he moves on to who actually would take the job.

If he’s formally offering the job, it’s just that—a formality. he already has a verbal commitment from that coach to come.

If Riley wasn’t sure or was hedging, he would never be formally offered. The next guy on the list would be.

Have you guys ever formally received an offer for a job? That usually occurs after you’ve already accepted the job.

ETA: you don’t formally offer a job to someone who hasn’t already verbally agreed to the terms.

All I think they mean by "formally offer" is that Riley would be expected to sign a Memorandum of understanding instead of just a verbal agreement.
