frick the Saints. Hope they enjoy their next few years of mediocrity.

I’m an LSU fan but they need to develop their own coaches bro. We only even got the 19 Natty because of a coach the Saints developed. Develop our own coaches or find a different cupboard to raid.

I think Ed O would do better to not tell everyone when a candidate has become the primary target. That way if they don’t come, he can sort of play it off.

And now the truth comes out.....no contract issue after all.

Translates to: you can go, but we’re suing for breach of contract/you gonna pay. Sean Payton doesn’t own the man. If he wasn’t able to go, why bother giving him a raise?

Lots of good college DCs LSU could potentially pursue. Cupboard is still full. Need to get on it now before signing day though.

Saints gave him a new contract, new title, and more money.

They used the carrot and the stick. I like the aggressive approach to keep a coach they wanted.

Seems to be a recurring theme.

If Nielsen wouldn't have accepted the new offer, then he would've been bought out. The Saints did this because they hadn't had an opportunity to negotiate yet. They can block him in the short term to force him to hear their new offer.

Doesn’t mean that there wasn’t a contract issue. Why choose to believe some reporting and not others? Honestly look like he could stay and get a raise/promotion or leave and get sued for breach of contract.

Good. I'd rather him with the Saints long term than LSU for a season or two.

Saints didn’t release him so they had time to counter. In the end, it came down to Neilsen: saints or LSU

He chose Saints

And I am now officially happy the saints lost on Sunday. I used to not really care, now I officially don't like them.

Jesus let’s just roll the dice with the Schumman cat from UGA and be done with this.

Young, knows the SEC, can recruit, knows Saban's/Kirby's scheme, coaches LBs. I would perfectly fine with this hire and I honestly think it would work out well.
