I said this a few days ago, even before the LR stuff took off: if "White Whale" stuff was true, there was no way it could be Lincoln Riley.
Woodward has been around for a while. There's no way his "white whale" was a 30-something HC with ~5 years experience.

Exactly what I've been saying since his name popped up. They were riding with Kelly all along. The timing even proved it. They got word yesterday that ND was out of the top 4 with an extremely small chance to get in, so they announced it. This hire went down EXACTLY the way we knew it would. We heard literally nothing and SW knew who it was all along. Hours before it was announced his name slowly started to leak. Just like with KM and JJ.

I’m kind of torn what to think about the whole situation.
BK was my first choice in 2007 when it looked like Miles would bolt for Michigan and BK had Cincy as world beaters and had done well at a MAC school a few years before.
I wrote him off when he went to ND as I figured him as a lifer there.
He has won wherever he has gone and will likely do extremely well recruiting here simply because LSU has great inroads in Texas and Florida in addition to being the top in state program.
I’m just hoping some of the character issues related to him and his players aren’t an indication of anything.
LSU has enough PR nightmares already without there being a new Guice-style incident or someone dying while filming practice.
TLDR - Better than I thought we would get, especially after Riley went to USC, but I am wary.
