Yeah, cause my last post has anything to do with Orgeron.
Idiot.
Answer the question. It's pretty simple really. What coach has taken a job after the regular season, and coached the bowl game with a staff that isn't his?

OP has the most sense so far out of all the experts in here. Agree with you totally.

They want Herman or Jimbo
O would be 3rd option imo

Done deal but "either." Got it.

And if LSU had a plan in place, as another poster suggested, do you really think something wouldn't have slipped out by now?
You are apparently clueless as to why LSU botched the Miles situation last year.

Someone gave the most reasonable answer to why he looked like that and I believe it, coach had the runs.

This guy gets it. You don't sh*t-can Miles (and believe me, I was all for it) without a plan in place.
Well,we are talking about LSU admin, right?
they don't always have a plan...
And when they do have a plan, someone like King comes in and craps on that said plan at half time
I think they fired Miles believing they had a few months to get their guy.
they wanted a motivated coach to create wins for the players and program so the job is desirable which it is
But I've been told by a friend who recently spent time with Alleva's son, that if O wins out he is likely going to get the job.
TIFWIW...
And this same friend hated Miles all these years, thought he was a stubborn and stupid "tier 3 coach"...he thinks O might could do well...I am shocked by his analysis...
he figures LSU is in good shape, we get O or Jimbo most likely
It's crazy trying to figure this out...

If Alleva does this and it bombs, his a** will be out the door. Is he really willing to take that chance?

Apex, that's known as the Eauxle Smeauxkscreen.

if he hires a guy that's costs LSU 2 million more a year and he bombs his job is safe?

He might not get it but do we just want to hire some coach because he's supposedly a rising star or because it looks good to people around the country. I thought it was all about winning football games. You can't even make comparisons to Orgeron now and when he was at Ole Miss. He admits he made a lot of stupid mistakes and he learned from them, plus he learned a lot from Pete Carroll while at USC. The men can flat out recruit, and let's face it, that's where it all starts. I don't have a problem keeping Orgeron because I think he'll go out and get a really good OC, keep Aranda, and do a great job of being a recruiter, motivator and CEO of this program. If this would be the case I think that Aranda might then become the "Coach in Waiting." I'm not really sold on Herman because I don't feel that you can compare coaching at UH with the week in, week out grind of the SEC especially the SEC West. As far as Jimbo, I didn't care for him when he was at LSU before and he's proven to be pretty average considering his talent. Something else, what happens to our recruiting class if we don't retain Orgeron? The talking heads on ESPN said a couple of weeks back that it is unprecedented to have only lost 1 recruit after a HC is fired. That's because of Orgeron guys, believe it or not. Is it going to happen, probably not, but it might not be as far fetched as you think. If we win the next two games and get a Sugar Bowl berth, maybe hiring a D-Line coach might not be such a bad idea. And as far a being the laughing stock of the College Football World, keep winning and the laughing will stop and the "Talking Heads" will shut the F_ _ K up. Geaux Tigers!
Holy stream of consciousness. Not all internal monologues need to be typed out

I'm just sick of speculation. And.... all of the people who are positive that whatever their opinion is will definitely happen. We'll find out soon enough.

That is the worst theory I have ever heard in my life.

You honestly think that they would tell Orgeron during a game(with 2 games remaining. Possible Sugarbowl..etc) that he's not going to be HC next year?
No way they'd do that. It would make no sense. He did look kind of upset in the 4th quarter, but i have to believe that it's something else.
I don't want Orgeron to be the HC next year. I just don't think they'd break the news to him during a game.

Touche. Did not realize Cincinnati asked him to coach the bowl game, as opposed to naming an interim.
Still, it's relatively unheard of, and unlikely that LSU would do the same. There is just very little precedent for such a move.
ETA: Especially if LSU wins out and is in the Sugar Bowl. I don't see them making such a move, unless the coach is announced at the end of the regular season AND Orgeron decides to split.

Agreed, it's not a likely scenario.
Just figured I'd answer your question since no one else was.
