I know its fun to speculate, and talk about this subject until everyone wants to puke. However, O WILL NOT be the coach. It's actually pretty silly to even think he will be. You don't fire Les Miles, which means paying a nine MILLION dollar buyout, after 4 games of a season, just to give the job to your freakin defensive line coach. I know that there are some morons in Louisiana, but luckily those morons aren't making this decision. Joe Alleva and a couple of serious business dudes are. They're sparing the over emotional white boots from making a stupid emotional decision.

Lets say the guy's name is Ed Ollinger, interim HC at another power 5 school. Good recruiter but failure as an HC several years ago, has only been an 8 game interim, and a d-line coach since. Would LSU go hire this guy? Even give an interview? HELL NO. No but we want to hire him because he's from south LA, and speaks like my daddy's great uncle.

Guys this deal was done the day they fired Miles. It's either Jimbo(most likely) or Herman, and Ed knew this when he was given the interim title.

This guy gets it. You don't sh*t-can Miles (and believe me, I was all for it) without a plan in place.

You are completely wrong. If LSU wins out and gets a Sugar Bowl birth "which is the most likely scenario if LSU wins out" while going 6-1 since Miles firing while beating Ole Piss, Arky, UF and A&M with only a 10pt loss to Bama in a very hard fought game. Alleva's hands will be tied, he will literally have NO choice but to take the Interim title off Coach Oeaux's name and I will take bets on that!

I happen to agree with you and FSU tepid 2016 performance will lead to those folks not holding on so tight as well.

I like O....I really do and would LOVE to keep him at LSU in a heightened capacity, but he's not the $9million dollar option.

Your first mistake is actually assuming Alleva can get this right. He certainly didn't last year.

And if LSU had a plan in place, as another poster suggested, do you really think something wouldn't have slipped out by now? If they had a plan in place, why on God's Green Earth was Miles not fired last season?

You might be right, he might feel that way. But if that's true, Alleva better get his resume in order because he will be fired, sooner rather than later. You want to talk about second guessing an AD? When you make hires in the two most prominent sports in college sports, you are going to be under big pressure to at least get one of them right. If he follows up the ludicrous selection of Johnny Jones as head men's basketball coach with Ed O as head football coach, his arse is grass. Especially given the fact LSU can have just about any coach they want, baring a handful of untouchables. He better think very clearly about his future because if he does it, he is basically signing his own pink slip.

I have a theory on why coach O acted the way he did Saturday night.

He coached at Arkansas in his first PAID coaching gig. He has friends that are associated with the program, including Stephen Jones - son of Jerry. His wife is from Arkansas. Arkansas had him as the main speaker at their touchdown club a couple years ago. It was all Arkansas alum who invited him and did the speeches prior to his.

Most importantly, he is not just auditioning for the LSU job. He knows Bert may not be at Arkansas much longer. If he had the Ark job his wife may actually move there to be with him.

He did not in any way want to show up Ark in his convincing win.

Hello, Rip Van Winkle, were you asleep? Do you not remember FK Alexander and Jindal stepping in at the last minute to throw a monkey wrench into the works?

Those are some very "mute" points you have there for sure.

Firing Les Miles wasn't totally about getting rid of Les Miles. The mouth breathers might not understand that so I'll explain. LSU had their guy, or 2 guys, within a 90-100% reach by seasons end. They have a plan, and went ahead and pulled the trigger on Miles to show that the crap that happened last year wouldn't happen again. The move 4 games in was just as much about nailing down the new guys as it was getting rid of the old guy. That guy was never coach Yaw Yaw. They are handling it right this time.

Don't know about that one, that is what spelled doom to getting Fisher last year I don't think they are stupid enough to let that happen again this year. I don't think they have a deal in place I think they have people really high on their want list but no deal in place.

Oh come on, don't act like they actually had someone lined up. So what, all of a sudden it was ok to spend $9 million to buyout Miles?

Take the blinders off. Alleva got played by Jimmy Sexton, and he had no choice but to keep Miles. When he was clearly tanking this year, he had no choice.

Jindal might have been gone this time, but isn't Edwards pretty big on not wasting money? Isn't F King still around? Why all of a sudden was $9 million justified, but not 9 months ago?

Give the guy a break, he is 10 times better than Les Miles and you gave Les Miles 11 years.

Alleva did not get played by Sexton. Fisher backed out when F King and Jindal started playing games. He was coming, whether you chose to believe it or not. Alleva and the big backers had the $$ and deal virtually done. F King and Jindal screwed it up, along with whoever leaked the info to Scott R in week 9 and he wrote the article.

Also it was over $12 Mill last year. If you want Ed O has your head coach, then just switch as pull for the team that he may be coaching next year, which WILL NOT be LSU.

So again, what is the difference this year? Is F King that bog a bitch that he let Jindal push him around? Does Edwards not care that LSU just shelled out $9 million to buy out a coach? Can Batman and Robin stop the Joker?
