So no Aranda?? He's 9-8 at Baylor
If you look at that guys post history, he is not an Aranda guy at all so I don’t think you have the correct target audience for the post you’re making

I’ll be disappointed if it is either Jimbo or Mel.

A) jimbo isn’t coming here
B) I don’t want to give a mediocre coach a 10 year, almost 100 million dollar GUARANTEED contract like ATM did.
B is the main concern. Woodward would be an idiot to pay that.

If Aranda is hired, it will be primarily based upon the success he experienced as LSU’s defensive coordinator. His success at Baylor this season would be a positive as well.
I would think If Tucker was the hire, it would be for similar reasons with even his one year at LSU being seen as a positive.

I agree with Feldman. Jimbo would have many reasons to come.
He not the current AD’s hire.
4 years no playoffs, powers that be probably getting restless, playoff expectations reset at LSU.
Texas and Oklahoma coming into SEC will make A&M recruiting harder in Texas.
Woodward and Fisher probably have a good relationship.

He doesn’t know shite.
I’m convinced that Fishers name is deliberately being leaked to the media and social media “insiders.”

Wonder who is talking to Bruce since his sauces (O and ponamsky) are on their way out.

“From what I’m hearing from people around LSU is that Scott Woodward is not giving up easily. And he feels like he may be able to pull Jimbo Fisher again even though the A&M people are like ‘no, that’s not happening.’ So we’ll see how that plays out.”
quote:
“Mel Tucker is a guy that has obviously had a terrific year and done a really good job turning around Michigan State,” Feldman continued. “He’s a former LSU assistant, former Nick Saban assistant. He is very well thought of by a lot of people inside LSU, especially some really influential people.
Is this really much of an update? I think we all assumed Scott would at least kick the tires on Jimbo a few times, no matter how unlikely it would be to get him.
And Feldman already said the same thing about "influential" people liking Tucker when Orgeron was let go. That's what started the whole Tate/diversity hire panic on here.
Whatever info he is getting from "people around LSU" is likely as reliable as the info on this board.

Probably still talking to them.

If Woodward is not able to get his man, Feldman believes LSU insiders have begun to support bringing in another member of the SEC coaching tree. Michigan State’s Mel Tucker could be the man for the job.
I keep telling everyone this and no one will believe me. Until proven otherwise Mel likely becomes the HC.
I'm not advocating for him (pretty far down my list), but I'm not against it either.

That's not an update, it's clickbait. Feldman is just writing a Capt. Obvious article. He really has no insight into the search.

LSU's general obsession with trying to hire Fisher vs Coach O's blinding obsession with trying to recapture the Joe Brady offense. Which is weirder?
I have thought about this situation a bit and the stories we were feed at the time just seemed to not add up the more and more I thought about it.
We all know the back story on Jimbo and why he says loves LSU and Baton Rouge and still has friends here. One of which is Scott Woodward apparently this includes some of the power people around LSU as well. So in 2015 when things start collapsing after the Bama loss all the talk about firing Les starts. Soon after the Jimbo talk starts and apparently a deal is in place according to the rumors. The talk was that Jindal and some others saved Les saying it would look bad firing him at that time. Then the A&M game happened and the fan reaction and apparently sometime around halftime they decided he was staying. I have always thought that the whole situation in 2016 stunk. With the way Les way fired and the coaching search happened. Not saying it shouldn't have happened, it should have in 2015, just the way it all went down. Now with hind sight and what we now know about Joe Alleva. Tin foil hat time: Joe leaked the stuff to the media about Les, this we know for sure. Would it surprise anyone now what we know about Joe that he leaked it knowing it would create chaos and a media storm. Because he wanted to sabotage the Jimbo deal that had been worked out with the power brokers. We knew he was a snake from the Duke fiasco. Then when the Will Wade stuff went down and his reaction to the fan base we saw what a arrogant prick he was. I would not be shocked if at sometime we find out that LSU had a deal locked in and ready to go and it was Joe who caused all to crash and burn.

Same here, but man he has had only one successful year. I know the same can be said for Aranda but we got a long look at Aranda here for 4 years and that dude is all business. If he were to come here and fail it certainly would not be for not trying. I put Aranda above Tucker because I know a lot more about Aranda.

Mel Tucker has had a great year utilizing the transfer portal for players . Let’s see him do this 4 years in a row . Then , you might have something . Can he recruit ? Can’t give a coach the keys to the kingdom based on one good year .

Absolutely
I’m not entirely sure who we’re after, but the Jimbo stuff is clear-as-day a smokescreen and intentional.
At this moment, I think Woody is after Riley/Dabo/Kelly with Aranda as the fallback.

Fisher is the guy. I agree Tucker is a likely back up option to Fisher. We will find out once and for all if he really does want to be the head coach at LSU.
Jimbo is a very solid coach. Would not have a problem with the hire.

If his source is people from around LSU then he doesn't know anything.
