I'll call Alleva immediately and inform him to stop wasting his time on such tangibles as recruiting, graduation rates of players, coaching skills, etc.

Focus on media skills to get your man.

In response as to why Herman or Jimbo would be a better choice. This is related to pressers fyi for anyone who didn't read it.

Every comment you make about O is putting you in his corner. I don't see too many (if any) discussing your support for your top 3 you gave me.

If we beat Ole Miss, they will be 3-4

3
and
freaking
4

And yet, that will be a notch on the belt for Coach O

Yeah but they'd be the best 3-4 team in the country! Haven't you heard?

Ole Miss was a strong win for Alabama.

Why wouldn't it be for LSU?

(This was by no means a vote for O, in just throwing that out there due to my hatred for all things BAMA oral ingestion)

Why did Alleva fire Miles and hire O if he was afraid a coach winning fan favor and forcing his hand?

I think this is the most likely scenario going on right now. RLH has avoided mentioning Herman or Jimbo while pumping up the upcoming games for O. It is just a ploy by the admin to give hope to the O camp that they are considering him for hc but behind the scene they might be secretly negotiating with a top candidate. Just a misdirection or misinformation to calm the rioters before a confirmed contract.

we were supposed to win the SEC or be a 1 loss team at the very least and even ignoring Miles' 2 losses, the bar for Orgeron is simply to not get embarrassed by Alabama? Chances are we aren't gonna run this gauntlet with just one loss anyway.

I really don't want to have to root for LSU to lose

I refuse to

but frick

i have played this game too much in the past and i can't do it anymore.

LSU finally got rid of miles and i am eternally grateful for that. i am going to enjoy the rest of this season as this team has nothing to lose...i will worry about the consequences later.

I can see it now. Our "fans" are going to marginalize every win we have from here on out because they don't want O to get credit for anything that might give him the job.

Just a FYI: We are going to be favored in almost every game for the rest of the season. You can't dismiss every win just because we are favored by Vegas.

So he gets a pass on A&M too?

He shouldn't be in the running for HC period. But if he finishes 2-3 down the stretch and still lands the gig we will look AND be a true moron FB program.

I'm calling BS on this Random Hero!

I dont think Ark is a definite right now. Depends on where they go and where we go before then.

Has LSU lost to A&M?

This thread is ridiculous. Bunch of the loudest posters because they don't want to see O as the head coach basically insinuating that they don't mind seeing LSU lose so O won't get the HC job.

Exactly. SEC teams will let out a huge sigh of relief if we settle for Orgeron

I put this in a thread on the rant, but Booger said today O will not get the job no matter what. Booger knows.

I would never say that but I do think it's very dangerous to read too much into what a guy does as an interim coach vs what he would be as a permanent head coach.

To unpack that a little, O's enthusiasm is a welcome breath of fresh air. he has a phenomenal DC and an OC nobody has much tape on yet. I have absolutely no doubt O would be better here than he was at Ole Miss, but I have serious reservations about what may happen when his style of running the program isn't so new and fresh anymore, what happens when people get a good amount of tape on our new offensive approach, and what happens when Aranda gets a HC job.

O has had an opportunity to be a head coach and wasn't just bad but was epically, historically bad. I know he's learned from it and all but giving that guy the keys to your program is exponentially more dangerous than a young up and comer.
