I would never say that but I do think it's very dangerous to read too much into what a guy does as an interim coach vs what he would be as a permanent head coach.
To unpack that a little, O's enthusiasm is a welcome breath of fresh air. he has a phenomenal DC and an OC nobody has much tape on yet. I have absolutely no doubt O would be better here than he was at Ole Miss, but I have serious reservations about what may happen when his style of running the program isn't so new and fresh anymore, what happens when people get a good amount of tape on our new offensive approach, and what happens when Aranda gets a HC job.
O has had an opportunity to be a head coach and wasn't just bad but was epically, historically bad. I know he's learned from it and all but giving that guy the keys to your program is exponentially more dangerous than a young up and comer.
You made several very valid concerns here but the only thing I strongly disagree with is the bolded part. There are huge busts nearly every single year with up and comers. They are no where near safe options.

F IT!
#1- Herman
#2- Fisher
#3- Kiffin with our current staff. yes, I said it. Wildboyz at LSU. that would be my dice roll. give him a 3 yr deal and see what happens.

Would laugh my arse off if LSU hired O.

the only truly safe and realistic options are Jimbo Fisher and Bobby Petrino. I would be very happy with either of those guys. After that, there are "good risk" up and comers like Herman and yes, PJ Fleck, who I would give an opportunity to over Ogeron.

LSU finally got rid of miles and i am eternally grateful for that. i am going to enjoy the rest of this season as this team has nothing to lose...i will worry about the consequences later.

What if we only lose once but beat bama ?

The fact that all you have commented on is Coach O as of late terrifies me. Would love to hear about Herman or Jimbo.
Im just going to believe they are leaking O info because they want people to believe they gave him a fair shot. Meanwhile they're secretly trying to get Jimbo or Herman no matter what O does. This is the world i choose to live in so i can sleep at night.
That's Wishful Thinking in my opinion, sounds like LSU selling /preparing LSU fans for the Orgeron hire.

Well get ready for the comedy club. It's happening unforuntately.
Youre welcome.

This team that lost to Auburn and Wisconsin "should" beat A&M, Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss?
Recall that every one of those teams is ranked higher than LSU at the moment. Some MUCH higher.

We were projected to win pretty much every game with the exception of the game against Bama preseason. We still have the same players don't we? Coach O basically pulled the wheel so we didn't crash into the wall. We should still be able to cruise control into at least 3 wins from here.

Remember the Ole Miss, Florida, and Arkansas game carry a lot of weight
This is so ridiculous. All I can do is sigh.
That shouldn't carry weight. Line him up next to qualified candidates and then see how much you like him.

(semi-melt incoming)
This fricking board never changes.
Ole Miss won't be a measuring stick because they'd be 3-4. ( but sure is a great win for BAMA though!)
we're back to "LSU should just win on talent alone no matter the coach!"
Basically insinuating that some hope LSU loses so O doesn't get a shot at the job.
You people are ridiculous.

Actually, one book in Vegas had us preseason favored in every game this year. Forget which one but Moscona had an entire segment on it in August.

Wait...let me get this straight. Actual games where Ed Orgeron is the head coach at LSU shouldnt carry any weight when evaluating him for the position of...Head Coach at LSU?

It's a false equivalency. Interim wins are not equal to wins earned as the HC of a program a coach built himself.

I never said they were equal. It's laughable that they should be 100% discounted though. Especially the ones at the school he's interviewing for and when its for the majority of the season.

I believe his interim wins are important, but they are not as important as his full time HC career at Ole Miss.
I will conclude, he would be more qualified for the LSU job if all he had was the interim wins. Then every thing would point to him being a success.
But as is, too much failure baggage.

Could be just wishful thinking, but you have to wonder how long Alleva will be AD if he fired Miles and decided the D line coach was our best available option.
You think they already struck out with Herman, Fisher, Fleck, Kelly, Petrino (not really a shot with him, imo), Gundy, Fedora, Patterson, etc? If not they shouldn't be prepping fans for a coach O reign, imo.
