Matt Campbell is a guy I thought UF might go after. Would be a great hire for Arkansas to pull him out of Ames.

With all the craziness with LSU, Ole Miss, and Florida I keep forgetting that Arkansas is also looking for a coach

Campbell would be a home run for us. Consistently punches up and always has disciplined teams. He’s exactly what we need.

11/25: According to this article published today, the final 3 candidates are Womack, Morris, and Collin Klein. This is the first report I’ve seen mention Klein and he’s only 36, so I’m putting him in the same category as Gundy on the hot board.

I think Chad is the right guy. He’s still being paid and you can now get some coaching for that money. He still has the Arkansas gear and knows the campus well. And Craddock is coming available.

It’s probably a little early for a job like Arkansas, but I think Klein is going to do good things. Same mold/trajectory as Kellen Moore.

I don't know. He might be the perfect type of hire for Arkansas. Arkansas is in a weird spot because they aren't one of the top echelon SEC teams, but with the right coach they could perch themselves up there for years. Wal-Mart and Tyson money......no other major schools in Arky and proximity to LA, TX, GA, and FL. Really all Arkansas needs is the right coach and continuity and football could be right there with baseball and basketball. Klein is the right type of coach to take that on, and Arky is a place you could park yourself and not take any other jobs.

I hope they miss, but Klein there would be fun to watch.

Just seeing this, Klein needs a few more years to develop for an HC role. He's still relatively young which isn't a bad thing, but he really didn't hit his stride as an OC until mid this year. I don't think he'd be able to handle all the HC responsibility after just figuring out his role at A&M, just my thought though.

If Arky hires Golesh, which LSU should be doing, Arky will be a serious contender in the next 2-3 years for playoffs.
Golesh would be the next Saban at LSU if they had the good sense to hire him rather than going after LK.

Wife went to K state (no pics) but have followed Klein through his playing days and getting into coaching. Solid Successful guy with no HC experience but he is likely going to be very good/great HC in my very amateur opinion

On Sunday Morris withdrew after his 2nd interview, according to Mike Irvin.

Womack would be a home run for them…he’d be scary there imo. He’s going to be good

this is the transcript from his show

quote:

Also there are some reports that both Golesh and Morris have told Arkansas they are not interested leaving Yurachek with Will Stein, Oregon’s offensive coordinator or Kane Wommack, Alabama’s defensive coordinator as his options. If that’s true Wommack might be the choice. He’s a former Razorback. His dad was the defensive coordinator here under Houston Nutt. He’s a no nonsense coach who demands maximum effort from his players. Plus he would be expected to place an emphasis on in-state recruiting something that Pittman didn’t do.

However, Wommack would be a hard sell to fans who have been led to believe that Arkansas is making a big money hire

Is this even possible?

Arkansas barely produces any blue chip players (4-star and above)

According to 24/7, this is what Arkansas has produced the last few years:

2026: 4
2025: 1
2024: 5
2023: 3
2022: 4

Arkansas was already getting about 50 percent of those few blue chips. Even getting 100 percent of them only adds about 2 players per class.

This seems like a dumb talking point that has no real world accuracy.
