I think Lanning eventually leaves. He's just not going to Auburn.

Auburn landed on Harsin in the last coaching search. A candidate that threw his name into every job opening on the West Coast for years. Let that sink in.

Harsin got ran out of town. Now they're going to hit on their 2nd choice? Nah.

That's not how any of this works. "Landing on Harsin", unfortunately, is a wrong description.

I got to witness the entire search unfold because Auburn fans decided to post all over the message boards about how they were getting Cristobal. I heard every twist and turn from the Auburn POV.

It was the most dysfunctional coaching search I've witnessed.

Oregon puts 40k

Cool story bro.

I never said Oregon FANS don’t care. I said the city of Eugene doesn’t care. And they do not.

They don’t call it Tracktown USA for no reason.

2/3 of the city is doing something else.

And I left a couple years ago and go back and visit regularly multiple times a year.

But if you want to convince me the city of Eugene has suddenly started caring about college football this year, you will have to do more than boast about 40k at a spring game.

SEC teams pull that when it’s cold, raining, and looking at a shitty season.

Oregon had the 6th best spring game attendance last year and the only one with more in the SEC was Georgia.

They certainly like Track but there’s good support for the football team.

But, I don't have to compete with Alabama, Georgia and Florida all within a 4 hrs drive time. Plus if the players want NIL I would rather West Coast money.

Lanning is a far superior coach to the clown Cristobal Oregon had previously. Would be a good hire. Oregon is much improved on both sides of the ball.

maybe game day coach but he is a huge step down in everything else.

#1 rule to be successful over time is you must out recruit your peers, cristobal did that, we shall see if lanning can. he did learn from smart, so we shall see.

How so?

Everything is better. Much better Lanning is a very detailed person. Oregon should be thanking their lucky stars.

Lanning has a top 12 recruiting class, #1 in pac, ATM.

Lanning isn't leaving. At least not yet.

The source on Lanning is a glorified message board poster.

Right, Oregon is #11 and there’s every indication that he’s making moves to get inside the top 10.

Where Lanning is improving is the DL. This will be our best DL class in a long time.

ummm 12 was cristoball's worst class and he had to build that essentially from nothing. lanning is inheriting a recruiting machine.

Unless the only thing he wants is to receive a crazy buyout whenever he is fired after 2-3 years there.

I'll bet you weren't alive the last time an Auburn coach didn't finish his 3rd.season before Harsin...

Sorry, it's 11 and the recruiting season isn't over yet. He's a first year head coach doing amazing things. How about some credit you dolt?

You right, Oregon had zero resources before he got there.

What you should say is he understood the importance to work his tail off to get the big time recruits. Something that isn't new to Lanning.

That's cute.

Do you even know what kind of recruiter Lanning is, or his staff?

You act like they aren't working and it's a former coach is why they are doing good. Except that former coach is recruiting a lot of the same players soooo....

That's a whole Lotta dumb baw.
