Oregon is a great a college program. It's the second best tailgating I've been to behind Tiger Stadium. I'd stay for at least a while

In a city that does not care about college football. They care more about track and field than football.

But what do I know? I only lived there two decades

Lanning leaving Oregon for Auburn would be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen a coach do. I think this is an absolute pipe dream by Aubz

Lanning deserves a raise. This is his agent doing well by him.

SI article

Auburn, Dan Lanning have mutual interest in Tigers' head coaching job

Up next in our "making the case" series with Auburn head coaching candidates is Dan Lanning, head coach of the Oregon Ducks.

Our sources have confirmed that there is mutual interest between Auburn and Lanning, who is nine games into his head coaching tenure with Oregon.

Btw, that fanbase has really shitty information. During the Harsin hire some of them lived on our message boards convinced they were getting Cristobal. The only reason I could see Lanning leaving is because he wasn't happy with the conference realignment strategy or the commitment to NIL. However, that will not impact Oregon for several years.

He's got top 10 composite talent at Oregon in a league that basically will not compete with Oregon on the infrastructure to be a top 10 recruiter.

Auburn needs someone with a history of being able to turnaround a program. Harsin has basically hallowed out the talent on that roster. There's basically two classes in succession with nobody.

This reeks of a smokescreen on Auburn's part and a new coach that wants a contract extension. If there is genuine interest on Auburn's part, God help them.

Phil Knight has more money than the Yella Man and is infinitely more reasonable to deal with

Don’t people realize this is where your family lives and you live your life. Oregon it’s like another planet if you’re from the south. Wife and kids and grandparents matter

Also, he’s on a plane anytime he has to recruit. At auburn you can have anyone you could ever want within 300 miles.

Lanning is from Kansas City. Also, his entire staff he assembled is from the west.

Yes, he will leave most of that staff behind with Tosh, if he takes the job. Lanning gets it. His staff anywhere will be built for recruiting, hence geographical connections.

Depends on Lane Kiffin and/or if Oregon makes the playoffs.

Now we have to listen to Oregon fans convince themselves their coach would never leave?
