Is Oregon's Dan Lanning a possibility? Yes. We explain why inside.

The latest on Auburn's search for a head football coach, including a top two?

Unlikely, short stint Oregon coaches only move on to Florida schools.

Yeah. Apparently he is the choice if Kiffin says no.

Lanning would be better off doing another 1-2 years in Oregon waiting on a better opportunity than coaching at the cesspool known as Auburn football. Unless the only thing he wants is to receive a crazy buyout whenever he is fired after 2-3 years there.

I figured his name would come out. It's just a matter of if he wants to leave Oregon. I suppose conference realignment may come into play, but with the playoffs expanding, I don't know if it's important from where Oregon is standing.

Lanning leaving Oregon for Auburn would be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen a coach do. I think this is an absolute pipe dream by Aubz

Seems like an odd fit that likely wouldn’t work out

Which is exactly why Auburn is going to hire him

What makes it an odd fit? Not arguing. Just curious.

Does Nix come back if it’s Lanning?

I think we will be getting a lot of Head coaches raises this year... that is just how the game is played.

I would like him, but think he is probably much better situated in Oregon, in terms of success.

I still think our main plan is to make it very hard for Lane to say no.

He’s a west coast guy with an easier path to the playoffs. I don’t see it.

Lanning is a far superior coach to the clown Cristobal Oregon had previously. Would be a good hire. Oregon is much improved on both sides of the ball.

Lol, I love seeing the fires after 2-3 years like it’s a regular occurrence. You know Auburn will have had exactly one more coach than lsu since 2000 once we hire the new one right?

Oh dang, I thought he spent more time on the west coast but I think you’re right

Why? He's fantastic. May be the next head coach at Arizona State.
