Oregon had the 6th best spring game attendance last year and the only one with more in the SEC was Georgia

Boasting about spring game attendance is so 2010. Nice to see Oregon finally care about something just about the time the real players in cfb don't.

Hell, Bama doesn't even do the Running of tGumps anymore...

#1 rule to be successful over time is you must out recruit your peers, cristobal did that, we shall see if lanning can. he did learn from smart, so we shall see.

Right.

Planning called great defense for a few years with NFL talent at every level at Georgia. Now he's working with Mario's framework (though getting Nix and a few other pieces in the portal was YUGE) and winning with those guys.

Time will tell on Lanning. I'm not sold just yet.

Sorry, it's 11 and the recruiting season isn't over yet. He's a first year head coach doing amazing things. How about some credit you dolt?

ummm i did give him credit dolt. i said he was better game day coach but it remained to be seen if he was better in the other aspects

quote:

You right, Oregon had zero resources before he got there.

What you should say is he understood the importance to work his tail off to get the big time recruits. Something that isn't new to Lanning.

i know what kidn fo resources they had but they were not recruiting like this ever before cristobal. even kelly didnt when he was using the handlers down in texas to get the likes of seastrunk.

quote:

Do you even know what kind of recruiter Lanning is, or his staff?

You act like they aren't working and it's a former coach is why they are doing good. Except that former coach is recruiting a lot of the same players soooo....

That's a whole Lotta dumb baw.

i didnt say lanning wasnt a good recruiter. i said at this time he isnt as good as cristobal was there.

why the frick are you getting so butthurt over this?

and lanning isnt leaving Oregon unless he gets 10 years 100 mil guaranteed.

No, that's not what you said you dolt.

Anyone who has watched both coaches and their teams already knows who is better and it isn't close.

Hell, I saw usc6158 or whatever give Oregon a compliment. That's a 1st. He knows.

Oregon literally upgraded with a 1st year coach.

I can agree on that but only because Chip hates recruiting and Oregon wasn't as high of a profile program before him and they depended on coaching up 3 star players.

. When a coach leaves he doesn't get credit for the hard work another coach put in. Especially a coach who is known for being an excellent recruiter with a staff of other good recruiters.

Which there's zero proof to back your claim up.

But let's say Lanning "only" can get top 11 classes for his lifetime at Oregon.

His coaching abilities shadow over cristobal which is painfully obvious. If you can coach up top 11 classes you'll be a good to great team.

Advantage....Lanning.

Responding is being butthurt?

I sure hope you don't text with your SO as im.sure it causes lots of stupid arguments.

what part of

right now Lanning is not as good at recruiting and off the field stuff do you not understand? He may be better long term but at this time he hasnt shown to be better.

better gameday coach..sure but not recruiting, atleast thus far.

no but calling someone a dolt and responding defensively over and over is being butthurt.

He hasn't even signed his first real class so what proof do you have? What part of that don't you understand? He's only credited with 6 5* at Georgia and has 2 in this class.

Who cares if you have top 5 classes to only to look meager on game day?

What dis is?

Miami trades for Lanning right now if they could.

I have no clue about Lannings ability to recruit… but you can tell almost immediately if a coach has it or not when it comes to recruiting.

He has it. He pulled together last year’s class when it fell apart. He got the DL portal transfers USC really wanted and the best offensive tackle out west. He called Jahlil Florence from the tunnel after the NC game and landed him despite trips to USC. Florence is already getting a third of the snaps as a true frosh.

What will really be the difference is if he’s got an eye for guys with higher ceilings than Cristobal whom was average there.

Dan Lanning: "The grass is damn green in Eugene and I want to be in Eugene for as long as Eugene will have me." So yeah, Auburn ain't happening and was never happening.

We never got that from the two previous coaches Insiders have been saying that he is laying his roots here but we all have a little PTSD.

I have a feeling if he leaves Oregon, it's to a top 4 destination.
