The show runners have said that her being burned alive by Stannis came straight from Martin, but who knows I guess.
This was probably the dumbest part of all of season 5, or any season for that matter.
My thing is there would not have been anybody who would have followed him into battle after that.
The guy burns his daughter and they're all supposed to go fight for him after that. Give me a break.

It is completely at odds with Stannis's established and exaggerated sense of justice to allow that. Dude cut off Davos's digits for smuggling, even when the smuggling saved his arse at Storm's End.

Stannis is a hypocrite though. He was going to light his nephew on fire. Sorry, I wouldn’t put it past him in a dire enough situation, although I don’t think he’ll do it to defeat the Boltons.

I have both a daughter and a nephew.
HUGE difference torching her vs him, and he's not even a Bastard unknown to me...I'd still light him up.
Check out what I found at BAM on the sale rack yesterday in Katy Mills Mall:
Never read. No shelf wear/cracked binding.

As the years pass, I want this book to come out less and less. I forget more and more of the details of the massive 5 books as time passes. When the release date is finally announced, I know that I'll either have to reread all of the books again or go into the story having to look up a Wiki every other page.

Alt Shift X: Doom of Valyria
I do think in the books (assuming we ever get another) that we’ll learn about why the Doom occurred and actually visit Valyria. Sure we “see it” on the show, but Book Valyria I think could not be done justice on the show, especially back in Season 5 where the budget per episode is pretty modest compared to now.
