Former NFL offensive lineman Michael Oher, which the movie "The Blind Side" was based on, filed a lawsuit in court Monday alleging that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy tricked him into signing a document that made them his conservators. On Tuesday, the Tuohy family to fire back at his accusations...

We were so concerned it was on the up-and-up that we made sure the biological mother came to court.”

So glad Oher didn't go to LSU. We don't need this stink on us. It is a very unfortunate story. It appears everyone benefited. The book details the wealth of the Touhy family prior to knowing him. Regardless if the kid had ability or not, his living situation was shite, and they gave him every advantage to succeed. These people didn't need to do a thing. They felt compelled to help someone in need. Coming back at the family after all this time and all his success makes him look petty and ungrateful.

1) Why did he need to be a part of the family to go to Ole Miss?

2) Why did their attorneys say adult adoption was off the table when it is a legal option? One of those attorneys was later appointed his agent.

3) Was the biological mom educated enough to make a reasonable decision for Oher, or was she just a prop?

4) How was the conservatorship still a thing till this day? Is that common?

This story mirrors my life situation without the NFL of a black friend we took in. No father, mother was murdered at 15. All 3 brothers in prison. We gave him his first christmas. He lived with us. My dad paid his moms bills. We helped community round up and pay for a lot of his university education. His childhood was so rough that he's become schizo and thinks we're evil people. Just ungratefulness. Has engineering technology degree but working at a Lowe's. I sometimes think it'd be better to have let him go his own route instead of intervening at 10 yr old.

That’s an unfortunate story as well as his now, but in most cases doing this not only helps the kid, the family usually grows tremendously and learn quite a bit about life and it works out.

You can adopt anyone at any age, in any state. It is actually quite common. People adopt adults as their children for inheritance purposes.
