Officials from ESPN, LSU, and BYU all announced Monday night that the season opener between the Tigers and the Cougars has been moved to the New Orleans Superdome due to severe flooding in Houston.

The kickoff time will remain at 8:30 pm CT. Per LSUSports.net:
quote:

"Efforts are underway in New Orleans and we will work with the fans, the Superdome, the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau and both schools throughout the week to ensure the most optimal game day experience for all," said Pete Derzis, ESPN senior vice president of college sports programming and events.

The AdvoCare Texas Kickoff was relocated due the devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey to Houston and the surrounding areas.

"ESPN had to make a difficult decision and we are well aware of the awful circumstance that led to this move," said LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva. "Every storm is different, but we in Louisiana understand a little about what all of those in Harvey’s path are going through right now. It’s heartbreaking and our prayers go out to all who are impacted."

News Flash: To the arrogant fricks in Gainesville!!! This is how you handle a game threatened by a hurricane. You do not narcissistically stick your head up your arse and deny all true, relevant facts to your own advantage and at risk to others.

What are the betters odds? BYU pulling out the win or some poor drunk Mormon pulling out of a tranny?

This is gonna suck for BYU. 60,000 Tiger fans, in a Dome, filled with booze....recipe for a blowout.

You think Mormons are more homophobic than the average Tigers fan? You must not know anyone from South Louisiana.

Happy we'll have a true home field advantage and excited to see Mormon BYU students corrupted by our culture, mates

Good. Hopefully, they won't have to change it yet again or cancel it if/when NOLA floods.

That's my worry. Even some of the local meteorologist are questioning moving it there.

"Sure, our pumps are all running and working great." - Mitch with a smirk on his face

We better have the Cajun Bucket Brigade on standby to get the water to the other side of the levee.

Dumb move. When NOLA floods then what? Another 11 game regular season?

So let me get this straight. We're dependent on Mitch, the troubled (on the take) mayor to suddenly decide to fix all of the pumping systems in NO within the next 3 days in an already flooding area, with more storms coming everyday this week, in order to get to see my tigers play their first game in the (Texas Kickoff), moved because of flooding from one flood area to another? Who makes these decisions, ESPN? What happened to bone dry and sunny Dallas? We'll be very lucky if that game is even played Saturday. Yes, it's indoors, but if the city is flooded, then what?

Good. As much as I would have liked it in TS, I think I would've thrown a shoe at my TV if lightning strikes mid-game would've gotten it cancelled.

Wait until the Aggreko generators shut down, like in the middle of the Super Bowl. They should have hired me.

I saw huge pumps from La headed to Houston just a while ago. They can rig it up if they need to do that. Hopefully there are no pumps needed.

USACE screwed N.O. by misappropriating dredging material to those with cash in their hands instead of where it needed to go to build a secure barrier. Crooked agency.
