Texas head coach Tom Herman confirmed Monday that he and his staff are recruiting former LSU quarterback Brandon Harris to Austin.

It was reported last week that Harris would be visiting North Carolina, Texas, and Arizona as potential transfer schools.

Harris announced last month that he would be transferring from LSU after he graduates in May. He will be able to play immediately at another school as a graduate transfer.

I wish Brandon Harris the best. Miles and Cameron's stagnant offense played to Brandon's weakness and not his strengths. It was a surprise that he any success at all in that system. I think Herman's offense will play to Brandon's strengths he should do well there if Texas is able to put a few playmakers around him. Wherever he goes, I wish him success.

I hope Brandon Harris gets to Texas and takes the starting role. Aside from going to NC, Texas is his best landing spot to learn the position better and make it to the NFL #teambrandonharris

Brandon Harris is a Tiger; let's support this young man in his completion of college-wherever it is. His results have not been what he or we would have liked, but his efforts were higher than most all of of us on this board who have not taken the risk to fail. Lest we forget that under Les Miles and his motley crew of offensive coordinators, only 3 of 14 players signed to play QB actually finished LSU. Something in retrospect was obviously wrong, especially when analyzing the consistent mediocre QB play- where few could step up to deliver consistent, satisfactory performances. This points to coaching and scheme, which Harris has opted to change. For him-and all those other QB's over the years-it's unfortunate that it took that long to change that suspect coaching and scheme. I wish him well!!

If he is such a tiger, why did he quit the team and not at least participate in spring ball. He is still going to class anyway this semester to finish his degree. The offensive change needed happened, he is still in school, but decided not to compete. He was a tiger... but that ends when you quit on the team.

Now we know the real reason TH didn't come to LSU, he just wanted our QB...hell, maybe we got a better deal than we thought...

I'm calling it now. Harris will do well in practice and tear it up in drills. He will impress the coaches with his performance on the practice field. He may win the string job for the first game. Then, when he gets into live action in a real game, he will do miserably just like he did at lsu. I wish him the best but brandon harris just isn't a college qb and never will be no matter what offense he is in and who's coaching him. He's just not a good qb, period.

Wow....way to go out on a limb there and state the obvious. Big risk taker calling it now!

all the comments about harris being "inept between the ears" and not having the talent are in complete denial about the unquestionable failure of the previous coaching staffs ability to develop quarterbacks. quit blaming the kids.

You have to be kidding. There's nothing wrong with someone not being a good qb in college, very few people have that ability. Harris isn't one of those few people who are good qbs. There's nothing wrong with that and it's not an attack on him as a human being, it's just that he isn't a good qb. Good Lord, did you watch him play at all? He's a good kid and I really respect him for how he handled the whole situation last year and really glad he got his degree most of all. I would bet you whatever you wanted to wager that he won't light it up as a qb wherever he goes. He doesn't have the mental toughness, football iq, or decision making ability to be a successful qb at this level of ball. If you think he does after watching him play for as long as he did at lsu, then you just don't know much about football.

It seems like the coaching staff went so far as to make him WORSE than he was raw. Remember when he came off the bench against Moo State? Cameron sure made sure he never improvised like that again. Same with Jennings actually - watch the game-winning drive vs. Arky and then the bowl game. Apparently you were only coached not to use your talents once you became a starter.

not sure BH would want to go anywhere to sit the bench. If he was ok with that he'd stay at LSU. Guy wants a shot to play now.

But it takes 4 years for qbs to learn the offense. Oh wait, that coach is no longer at LSU.

Sorry Tom. He's not going to go from sitting the bench behind Etling at LSU to go sit the bench behind Buchelle at Texas.
