The talk of College Football right now is the report that dropped on Wednesday that Texas and Oklahoma are looking to leave the Big 12 to join the SEC.

On Thursday, the SEC Network put up a graphic showing what the potential alignment could look like if the two teams joined the conference.

The SEC, which would be turning into a super conference, would consist of 4 pods/divisions. LSU would be in a pod with Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, according to the graphic.

Pod A: Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina
Pod B: Alabama, Auburn, Tennesee, Vanderbilt
Pod C: LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
Pod D: Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma

And so, a 4 team conference championship playoff leading up to the SECCG?

Two divisions. Pods are groups of four teams that are always together. The divisions are eight teams (two pods) that pair up on a rotating basis.

The one thing they get right is host every team every four seasons. This way you play every team at least every other year. As it is now, we may not play someone for 6 years.

Booooooo 8 team West 8 team East Play all teams in your division (7 games) Play 2 teams in other division (rotates - NO PERMANENT OPPONENTS) 3 non-conference games

So probably still have to play Alabama each year in addition to Texas and Oklahoma? Meanwhile Georgia, Florida don't?

I am sure the SEC will give us UGA, Florida and Bama as permanent oppenents.

If happens , I guess Big 10 would invite West Virginia, K State, Kansas and Iowa State. Texas Tech , ok State , Baylor would try for Pac 12 or ACC ?

Switch TAMU and Ark and I'd be OK with it, but I'd miss the annual matchups against Auburn and the Gumps. Florida, that shoe-throwing nag? Good riddance.

Allows OM to play their real rival (LSU) every year.

This is retarded. College football is dying right before our very eyes. Just a matter of time before it turns into the nfl.

Oh no! You mean the kids get a small piece of a multi-billion dollar industry that exists because of them? It is not 1980.

@canebreakcajun I was referring to the sec having 4 divisions and losing annual matchups that have been around for decades. But since you brought it up. I don’t feel sorry for anyone getting a free college education, having 24/7 access to state of the art facilities, and is treated like a god everywhere they go.

If they don’t expand the CFP to eight teams when they expand the SEC, there’s gonna be some pissed off people on one side or the other.

Sounds good for a regular season format but what, no more conference championship game? You have 4 pod winners trying to get into the the new 12 team CFP.

Best two records of the 4 pod leaders. Easy enough. And of course various tie breaks below that.

I’d like to see a 4 team playoff for the SEC championship. You can make it work. I’d look at starting the season a week earlier if the concern is getting too far into December.

Swap atm for either ark or Missouri. Put atm and the short horns together.
