Ole Miss was'nt hesitant about entering a legal contract with an 18 year old payment when it was to their benefit......but now A.D. Carter said: "There has been general hesitancy among college football athletic departments to enforce buyout payments against 18-year-olds"!?! 18 year olds get student loans, buy cars, etc. and the Banks, IRS, Finance Companies, etc. will absolutely enforce the loan/contract terms & agreement. This is like saying, similar to if a local Oxford, Ms. Car Dealer finances a car for a player who transfers to LSU - then LSU should be responsible for the car payments! Its a contract between 2 legal parties, which LSU was NOT a part of. Ole Miss is simply but hurt and is afraid their contract with the player was flimsy, poorly written and they may not avail if they try to sue the player in court. So, Ole Miss is hoping for a sympathetic judge in hopes of collecting from another party (LSU) who ultimately won the recruiting battle and who clearly has deeper pockets rather the the party/player who reneged. LSU, like Ole Miss and all other teams/schools, competes to win. Ole Miss, for whatever reason, lost the player THEY paid for. It is not incumbent upon future organizations to pay for Ole Miss' losses. It's like losing a girlfriend to another dude and then going to the other guy and asking him to compensate you for "pain & suffering" from your loss!
