Senior College Football Reporter Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports reports that new LSU head coach Lane Kiffin may attend the Sugar Bowl with Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry to see his former team, Ole Miss, take on Georgia.

The Sugar Bowl on Thursday, Jan. 1, kicks off at 7 p.m. on ESPN.

Don’t worry, it gets weirder.

Lane Kiffin, the former Ole Miss coach now at LSU, may attend the Sugar Bowl along with someone else: Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry. Reached on Tuesday, officials at LSU and those with Landry did not dispute that the duo is at least considering attending the game, and security plans are being made for their arrival, those with knowledge told Yahoo Sports.

Did you need more drama?

“Wait until the portal opens,” quips one Ole Miss staff member.

The transfer portal has made tampering allegations irrelevant.

I’ve got my fill hearing about Ole Piss. On X, here & YouTube that is all I hear . I understand they had a nice little run under Lane & LSU hasn’t been up to par since ‘19. Now they ( ole Miss) are complaining, regurgitating every stupid thing over & over ad nauseam. Yet they are still in the playoffs & it seems that’s secondary. Probably their last season to be this good for another 60 years. LSU fans & alumni need to move on to and focus on the transfer portal & the Tigers future.

I hadn’t thought about ole miss’ game being in the dome…with that in mind, I think it is perfectly reasonable Landry, Kiffin, or anyone else that gets a ticket to attend.

What "officials" are saying that there is tampering going on? Unnamed "sources" which means that the writer is just making it up. Staff reporter no less, can't even say who is wringing the alleged article lol

Well it’s definitely not Larry. He’s out even in town, he left Monday to go out of town. He’s attending his father’s funeral. RIP Mr. Leo

The state owns the Superdome so Landry can invite whomever he wants to the game. Especially to the state suite.

Its gotta suck to be working for the devil - literally a media members job is to stir up shite and pit people against each other. Its sad we pay these articles any attention.

Man we have a bunch of Libtards on this site. The Governor is going to the Sugar Bowl regardless if Kiffin goes or not. It would be a a nothing burger if Kiffin wasn’t “Possibly” attending.

It is true. There is a lot of libs on this site. I’m glad I don’t live in Louisiana anymore due to all the madness, but I’ll always bleed purple and gold.

Landry was responsible for getting rid of both Kelly and Woodward. Both of them needed to go.

Who gives a shite that Landry likes LSU and wants to be involved. So y’all need to understand that the governor appoints the board of supervisors who oversees all things LSU. It’s been that way for decades.

Lane is playing chess while Ole Miss plays checkers. He has his staff coaching a team full of free agents after Georgia beats them.

Good for the Governor embracing a new Era with new coach, and good for Lane Kiffin getting to know Gov Jeff Landry at a big game involving our coaching staff. I’ll bet Lane never got an invitation or offer to go to a game with MS. Governor Tate Reeves.

You have to do quite a bit of mental gymnastics to defend why he left the Texas Bowl early (instead of at least meeting with some Boosters/NIL Corporate Stakeholders in a Suite in the 2nd Half, etc.) and going to spend four hours at the Sugar Bowl instead.

If/when they lose, Kiffin needs to be there to console his former/future players.
